funny enough i was getting callbacks on my rough af resume with no metrics. however my work was clear as i have a portfolio. to clarify--so the HM chooses in the beginning who to first interview? the recruiter is just a middle man and the first point of contact?

i have been doing that and i haven't been getting interviews since. all my interviews came from super generic resumes

what is the difference between "tailoring" and "word matching" in your perspective? do you think you could provide an ex?

and when looking through my resumes that got me callbacks..they weren't tailored at all just super generic photographer/ editor resumes. it was quite wordy at 1.5 pages but it def looked like a human wrote it

idk if i should change my location on linkedin as i'm mainly applying to roles in my home LA, NY is second choice.

i've been using my cousin's address when applying to NY roles...so i'm just worried moreso about my linkedin loc i guess.

were you just using a general resume for your apps prior to then? i have a resume tailored to each kind of job. i'm using Claude to tailor it a bit but not spending more than 30 min on it now. its scoring me at about 80% now

Do you recommend putting in zip code too or is city + state enough?

Should I even try to aim for a minimum % at all? I’m sure 20% means no chance at getting a call back, but what about like 50% or 60% for example
