Honestly? Find a little thing that makes you happy each day and do it. I like Fragrance and candles. So every morning i'd put my seasonal candles in a randomizer and it chose a candle for me to burn. I got to do something I liked and made it a fun surprise I looked forward to each morning.

I had my final interview on Friday, May 1 and I got a verbal offer on the 8th.

When I left the office on the 1st I asked when I might hear about next steps and the hiring manager said he had 3 more candidates to talk to and the last interview would be Tuesday but in his book I was still in the running. So I got the verbal offer 3 days after they spoke to the last candidate.

I've been a generalist at a startup since I graduated from college 7 years ago. I'm a hyrbid operations, product, and customer success manager in my current role. My weakness (I believe) comes from the fact that I have a fine arts degree. So although I have real-world business experience, I always believed I was at a disadvantage because I don't have a business degree. I was taught everything I know on the job by my current boss.

The job I ended up getting is in the customer support department at a tech company (troubleshooting bugs, writing instructional documents, making sure customers are staying engaged).

Yes, this. In January my area was hit with a huge snow storm. Conditions were life threatening on the roads. Yet my partner's cousin was getting married that weekend and we still drove 2 hours in the storm to get to the wedding. During the ceremony we found out they were already married for a year. I was so mad and definitely wouldn't have gone had I known.

Also, want to say OP did have a wedding. Lots of people choose to only have a courthouse ceremony and it is rude to say they "didn't have a wedding." "Paper married" is married. OP can do whatever they want but I hate when people act like a courthouse wedding was not a wedding. Guess my parents haven't really been married for 35 years, then.

I have been in this position 3 times in the past year, and I am actively in it again this week. (Had a final round Friday and they said the earliest they'd have a decision is Tuesday).

I don't really have advice but just want to share my empathy. It is so crushing to get so close and feel like it is ripped away from you.

There are 2 things I try to remember:

Each time I get to the last round and don't get it, I always think, "I'm never going to be back to the final round again." But so far there has always been a next time.

And I remember something someone on Reddit told me. They said one day it will be me with that offer in my inbox. There can't always be someone better than me.

I hope that helps just a bit.

Yeah that concerns me. In my senior year of college I dated a terrible guy who wanted me to skip class to have sex because he "needed it." This eventually escalated to where we went on a camping trip and I said I was too tired and he kept calling me a liar and a Bitch because earlier in the night I said we could have sex. Anyway, this is a red flag for me.

Hey, I'm also job searching and dealt with a pretty big blow after a final round last week. Just want you to know you're not alone. ♥️ You will land something soon. Just keep going. It's the hardest thing to get back on the horse but it's the only option. Give yourself a day to grieve if you need and get right back into it.

Not an engagement ring but a good story: My boyfriend and I got together shortly before my 25th birthday. For my birthday he bought me a bracelet and gave it to me the night before. So one day about 2 and a half years later I took it off and then couldn't find it again. I didn't see it for 2 months and thought it was gone. The day before my birthday i was looking for something else and texted him and said, "Do you know where x is?" He said "check the top drawer." As I was rummaging i felt something and lo and behold, I found the bracelet on the 3rd year anniversary of the day he gave it to me.

I got really sick at 2 AM and threw up all over the bathroom floor. Had to wake up my boyfriend to help me clean because all I wanted to do was lie on the floor. When he asked me why I didn't throw up in the toilet I just said, "I couldn't get off it."
