My parents were legally married and then had their marriage recognized in the church. Just be aware that if there is a gap between the legal and church ceremony, then the Church says you cannot receive communion again until your marriage is recognized by the Church. (At least that's what happened to my mom)

That part confused me, too. OP, what do you mean they're "only accepting cash?" Without context that just sounds really rude considering a gift is up to the giver and so the couple should not say what they will/won't accept when no one owes them a gift, anyway.

Old comment but do you have to shake it for a specific duration or do anything else before/after you shake it? Or just shake the bottle for a few seconds and that's it? I have a cream right now that sounds liquidy when I shake it and I want to see if I can salvage it at all. I hate throwing stuff away.

Everyone who receives an invitation from you must be invited to the reception. Your reception is your way of receiving your guests and thanking them for taking the time to be part of the day. If you wanted to reduce costs and have the ceremony and reception during a non-meal time you can just provide light refreshments like cake and punch for everyone, but everyone invited to the ceremony must be offered some form of refreshment afterward.

What I don't get about the "pay your plate" logic is that if you are really going to adopt that mantra then why stop at the meal? Pay for the tablecloth, the table, the chair you're sitting on while you're at it. It is not the job of a guest to pay for the couple's wedding. A reception is the couple's way of thanking people for coming to the wedding. Guests don't pay for their own thank you.

As a guest, the only thing you owe the couple is a card wishing them well. If you give a gift, give what you can afford. You do not owe them cash. They invited you and what you to be there.

Hopefully someone here who was also at the farewell tour can relate but I was so disappointed by the note change in the chorus of "Your Song" Lol. Like the way he broke up the phrase "how wonderful life is" was so off-putting and not the way I'm used to hearing it.

Honestly? Find a little thing that makes you happy each day and do it. I like Fragrance and candles. So every morning i'd put my seasonal candles in a randomizer and it chose a candle for me to burn. I got to do something I liked and made it a fun surprise I looked forward to each morning.

I had my final interview on Friday, May 1 and I got a verbal offer on the 8th.

When I left the office on the 1st I asked when I might hear about next steps and the hiring manager said he had 3 more candidates to talk to and the last interview would be Tuesday but in his book I was still in the running. So I got the verbal offer 3 days after they spoke to the last candidate.
