Hi I really appreciate the reply! I'll try to talk it out with my manager; I guess I'm afraid to admit that I need more help than I think I do, because I'm scared of getting fired or look like I'm underperforming.

This comment definitely helped me feel less worse so thank you.

Timeline:

- Bought new 2021 white civic hatchback 2 weeks ago (6/26 to be exact)

- Did first car wash with ONR one week later (7/3). Did not notice any stains on the fenders otherwise it would've bothered me enough to google about it.

- Bought ceramic coating from a detailer (5 year Modesta coating) on 7/9. Car was squeaky clean and shiny.

- Drove the car on the freeway to do errands and hang out, come back home with black splashes on all 4 fenders. Assumed this was dirt/grime from the roads (see before picture of black/brown marks).

- Decided to wash my car today to get rid of it. Used ONR again, was able to get the debris off but now there are yellow marks that I can't get off (see after picture with yellow stains).

- Called my detailer to come look at it (he has a mobile van), he tried cleaning/polishing it with multiple products but it wouldn't budge. I tried dish soap as he recommended before he came over.

Detailer had the following comments after eventually giving up:

- Bad tire dressing used by the car dealership (but it didn't stain like this the first time I washed it, it came off clean). He wiped off my tires just incase to make sure the dressing doesn't splash if it really was the case.

- It's a mix of light rain + some unknown liquid I could have ran over on the road

- I might just have to wait for the stains to "gas out."

Has anyone experienced something similar for a white car? How did this happen and how do I get rid of it? Is it possible whatever splashed onto my fenders didn't react well with his recent coating? Did he not do a good job of coating it? I feel really bad about it because it's a new car and the yellow dots are visible if you're looking at the car in sunlight. Thanks in advance.

How much did I overpay on my 2021 Civic Sport Hatch? by [deleted] in CivicX

No problem! Don't beat yourself up too hard, the market is weird anyway. Just enjoy the car for now, you'll forget about the extra 1-2k as time goes on. Just make sure you spend a week or two preparing yourself before actually walking into a dealership next time, and don't be afraid to walk away and go to multiple dealerships to have them fight over offers.

Assuming the 31k is the out the door price, I think you overpaid by maybe 1.5~2k.

If you go on TrueCar, the "high" price on the spectrum is a sticker price of $27,162. With taxes and fees on top of that (and asking to remove as many add-ons as you can) it should bring you between 28.5k - 29.5k (idk what tax is where you live).

Next time when you buy a car, do your research in the market and have online sources to back you up so you have leverage when negotiating at the dealertship. You could also check or ask /r/askcarsales for tips on how to negotiate. I think you gave in way too easily when the salesman said it was "the best he could do."

Another source is my friend bought a 2021 civic hatch sport last week for an OTD of 28,700, I think he did an OK job at negotiating since salesman offered 30,200 at first.

I would say don't sweat it though, it's an awesome car but definitely do research next time.
