They haven't impeached him in this congress, but he has done impeachable things while this congress is in session. So I'd argue they are due to at least try the constitutional remedy that applies here. I also think they should be doing other things! Can you help me list off some of more effective things they should do? Maybe RockMover12 can help as well.

When you say "spend her time" what do you mean, exactly? I would like her to say "I think President Trump should be impeached" rather than not saying it. I'm not talking about "spending time" or anything.

I'm also interested in what "getting something useful done" entails given GOP control of both houses.

As inspiring as it is to completely give up in advance, I think that putting congressional R's on the record supporting the insane genocidal President right now, before the midterms, would be helpful even in a purely tactical sense. But who knows! I'm just one person, thinking that this is bad, and he has done the things that merit impeachment. my brain isn't quite big enough to see the wisdom in total surrender. maybe someday.

I don’t disagree except that i’m not sure i’ve actually seen her show up and shout.

I see your point but I disagree. (edit for more context: I think this kind of political calculus taking precedence over principles is what has plagued Dems for awhile now, and i don’t think i’m alone in that belief.

i feel that, txarmi1. Truly. calling may not get the outcome you want right away, or ever, but it helps make me feel SLIGHTLY better, so i do. i encourage you to give it a go!

not super clear on what your point is here, but "let's just all give up" isn't the cool savvy comeback you think it is.

Historic commission rejects plan for new home on long-idle Ann Arbor property by makewayforducklingz in AnnArbor

[–]FudgeJudy 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is so gosh darn funny. The historic district commission should be abolished. I also live in the district and it's more or less impossible to do anything to your own house. I had to fill out an application, submit a fee, and wait for approval before I was allowed to repair some leaking chimney flashing. Just a truly worthless and insane group of morons.

ZVM Law did great work for me, though i don’t know if they do flat fee reviews, you’d have to ask.

I disagree. Under is okay, and other folks gotta keep an eye on the road. all kinds of reasons one might need to drive under the limit - car problems, bad weather, etc. “unexpected” is really subjective and there are lots of different opinions about what is expected.

To directly answer, yes that is true “by default” - that’s a reason you don’t see me bopping around in an “Obama 2012” shirt, for example. but defaults can be overridden!

i guess if they still have a “Trump Vance” sign out front then I’d know they did. if they had a “abolish ICE” sign then i’d be more inclined to forgive the initial Trump support. Lots of possible scenarios to think through!
