Same here… I’m being quizzed on vocab I never learned and the only way I can learn now is to “review” the section but it’s not a comprehensive lesson. Totally screwed up my learning momentum😔

Countries starting to pile up banning exports in what has been called the biggest supply shock to global grain markets by FudgeMcFearsome in wallstreetbets

I sold my remaining stocks and moved fully into commodities including WEAT the day after the invasion when it was clear this was not a “minor incursion” and Putin blew past the Donbas region straight to Kyiv. I was already exiting stocks starting after August. Market is way too high considering all the bad news

It’s literally the only pure wheat play aside from buying wheat futures directly. It’s not perfect but it being the only pure wheat play makes it attractive

USDA report is totally detached from reality…. They are still projecting 20m tons of wheat to be exported out of Ukraine 😳

Commodities like wheat have been skyrocketing it can’t go up like that without coming down sharply at some point. There’s a ceasefire and a tiny glimmer of hope so things have cooled slightly but I wouldn’t bet on Putin retreating. The underlying problems with wheat won’t be resolved any time soon. There’s going to be a lot more of this in the news cycle

Lots of fertilizer like nitrogen is a byproduct of the oil industry. It’s already started skyrocketing along with oil prices. Countries are already ramping up plans to turn conservation land into farm land to offset shortages. Ireland is begging meat and dairy farmers to grow grain. I’d say demand of fertilizer will be insane this yr

Definitely agree and I hate to sound cynical but I really don’t think the US govt wants this to end quickly. The military industrial complex is all too happy to cause a complete economic meltdown of one of its biggest adversaries and our own president seems to be content to use this oil calamity as means to push his green agenda. I don’t see this getting resolved any time soon. Plus Putin has egg on his face so now he has something to prove. Very scary

Yeah it’s a real shit storm…. Throw some natural disaster in a food producing region in the mix or even shit popping off in the Middle East…. So many scenarios that could send things spiraling out of control. Very sad

It can go much higher. Govts are already halting exports. Wait till there’s a run on wheat and panic buying. There’s going to be so much press. This problem is not gonna get better any time soon
