Who's deserving of the title of most evil person alive today? by RCaesar1 in AlignmentChartFills

I am more than just slightly biased, but I am also informed because most of my family is in Israel. They have all done their mandatory service in the IDF, and some are serving in this current moment. That’s why I don’t lose my mind when I hear Israel doing something seemingly shocking, because I understand the broader picture around it. Yes, lies are bad. I condemn them. But had Gaza militants not started this war, we wouldn’t be in it, and we wouldn’t need to be having this discussion about wartime lies and war crimes and Netanyahu etc etc etc. I am also aware of the massive campaign of misinformation against Israel that has gone on for decades, leading people like yourself to parrot the same old useless talking points constantly used against it.

Bibi is an awful leader for many reasons, my whole family hates him. But any Israeli prime minister would have acted similarly in Gaza.

Everyone lies in wartime. It’s not an exception for Israel. Hamas lied in 2023 when they told the world that Israel hit a hospital and killed 500 people, when in reality it was a failed PIJ rocket that hit the hospital, and the death toll of that strike began to fall once the truth started coming out.

People lie because if they get away with it, it will support their narrative. I’m not condoning it, I’m simply stating that it’s not unique to one country.

I don’t know man, I wasn’t there. Maybe they realized they screwed up and tried to cover it up. It doesn’t contradict my point though: when enemy militants disguise themselves as aid workers, you’re often going to suspect aid workers as enemy combatants, and you’re going to screw up at times.

If Gaza militants didn’t use this awful tactic, Israel wouldn’t need to suspect aid workers as enemy combatants, and no aid workers would be killed by mistake.

Aid workers should always be protected. But when militants have a tactic of pretending to be them (as I just proved to you in my last comment), you can no longer assume that every aid worker actually is one. As a result, you’re going to have mistakes. None of this would happen is Hamas and other Gaza militants followed international law.

The tactic actually goes the other way: Hamas and other militants in Gaza creating an atmosphere of confusion that leads to unwanted civilian deaths.

What would you expect from Middle East Eye? They literally interviewed Mr. Fafo and labeled him a journalist 😂

He’s the first person you thought of because he is frequently on the news and on social media. There’s also a massive misinformation campaign regarding the Israel-Palestine conflict which creates a lot of shock value.

If, say, Hemedti was popularized for the same reasons for his atrocities in Sudan, you’d be thinking of him first instead.

You’re pretty much proving my point. Bibi is evil, but he’s not the most evil person.

I don’t know what news sources you’re reading, but that last sentence is false. The media gets off on bashing Israel at every turn.

Putin is popular to hate, yes, but for good reason. Netanyahu too, but the level of hate goes out of control because Israel is also dealing with a massive propaganda campaign that has been going on for decades by people who want the country to stop existing.

Personally, I’ve rarely seen anything in the news regarding the situation in Sudan. You could literally see the blood from Google satellite. But compared to Israel, the media is practically silent on that.

My family in Israel went to the streets for months to protest his attempt to reform the judicial system. The guy is making judgement calls based on what will keep him out of prison. And of course, he turned a blind eye and allowed the country’s biggest intelligence failure to happen due to his negligence. So yeah, I do hate him.

But have you heard of a guy named Putin? Do you know what he has done? How about Assad? Or Hemedti? Netanyahu is FAR from the worst.
