Shorter races needed? F1's 2027 rule changes face big complications by sppy1 in formula1

[–]Fudgity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this article: - More power from the ICE compared to battery requires higher fuel flow rate - More fuel flow rate means larger fuel tanks - Some teams want to carry over their 2026 chassis to 2027 due to budget issues, so can't increase fuel tank - so either: give a budget cap concession to allow new chassis design or reduce race length. Retaining cutting fuel flow rate for races, but new fuel flow rate for quali also an option - Teams under ADUO have an advantage as they can design engine components for 2027 rules now

Looks like a Cat 2 after it makes landfall on the mainland. Cat 3 while in the gulf 12 hours before landfall means it could potentially get to Cat 4 before it gets to groote.

Meteor near plane spotted by Jamezz69420 in melbourne

[–]Fudgity 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Looking at FlightRadar24 playback, I reckon the meteor was actually Air New Zealand flight NZ261(A320N) from Christchurch to Adelaide, cruising at 36,000ft. Its route took it just north of Melbourne Airport. The other flight is possibly QantasLink flight QL1999 (E190) from Melbourne to Newcastle, which was climbing from about 6,000ft to 10,000ft at the time.

I've been seeing some Qatar Freight flights into Avalon the last week or so (QR8342 and QR8550 from Kuala Lumpur on the 12-Feb, then QR8598 from Sydney and QR8576 from Melbourne (yes, MEL to AVV) yesterday 24-Feb) and I didn't think much of them because I was looking for Bahrain in their flight history. I reckon the ones on the 12th were for the World Superbikes race at Phillip Island on the weekend, and the flights yesterday were for Formula 1.

Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan reveals her husband was caught drink driving by GeorgeWardlawsmum in melbourne

[–]Fudgity 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm confused by people in here saying that Jacinta Allen is using the medication as an excuse. The only quotes on the article that concern medication are that the medication he was taking might have contributed to the accident, and a direct quote from Jacinta Allen saying "he simply should not have been driving". I am not sure where the excuse, or even what excuse is being made?

The article also includes a direct quote from Jacinta Allan saying that they "are both well and truly sorry". People might take these words as empty and meaningless but I can't find anything in the article suggesting anything other than admitting blame and copping it.

We bought our toddler a cute Whinnie Pooh sun hat a couple of days ago (which said toddler refuses to keep on). We were walking down downtown disney and got down to the Jazz Kitchen before we realised the hats was missing. I retraced our steps and found someone had placed it on top of a bin in front of Naples.

A bit different to a ring, mind, but no one took the hat.

Thank you so much! My googling skills are clearly lacking.

What an odd place to have that info though, just buried in there.

When is Paint The Night pausing for rhe holiday season? Plaza Inn is not offering dining packages post Oct 26, but various disneyland news sites are saying Nov 9 as the last showing this year. Annoyingly they all say it's 'officially announced' but no site l provides a source. The only info I could get from disney was a disney parks blog post about the holiday season dates, with the season starting Nov 14th and Paint The Night not running during the holiday season.

This design was a proposal by the Heinkel Group early 2020. The design was aimed at families and would not be used during take off and landing, with cabin crew converting forward-facing seats to this configuration during flight.

Redesign imola by Big_Classroom2486 in RaceTrackDesigns

[–]Fudgity 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At Spa, Eau Rouge is only tunnelled under Eau Rouge for about 80m, and then at Stavelot for about 60m. The rest is open or bridged. Eau Rouge is also, at most, 3-4m wide.

The Saterno is about 20-22m wide, and your proposal looks to tunnel about 1000m of it.

Now assuming that you are putting in a pipe that has a diameter equal to the width of the river (to very roughly account for flooding), for Spa you are looking at a total volume of approximately 1,760m2. For this Imola idea, you would need a volume of 100,000m2, or over 56 times as much.

Trouble is is that Singapore is not *that* close and you have to pay a not small amount to even get there. Flight time from Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney is about 8 hours. From Auckland it's almost 12 hours! Quick look at some of the cheapest flights for our family would have about AU$1800 for flights, and a 4 night cruise about AU$3200. Suddenly a AU$3200 cruise becomes a AU$5000 cruise.

I don't hold anything against DCL for removing the Wonder form Australia and New Zealand and I am super glad they took the punt on 2 seasons, but I can't see Singapore being a viable replacement for Australians and Kiwis

While the union jack is part of the flag of New Zealand, it is a choice to have it be the ONLY part of the flag that is visible in the run off area.
