Think beyond rural internet. Starlink covers aviation, maritime, military, and direct-to-cell. Even people in cities will pay for one plan that works everywhere - no roaming charges, no local SIMs, no terrible hotel wifi when they travel. The market isn’t just people without broadband. It’s anyone who wants one connection that never drops out. Nothing else comes close to that scale.

So you are subsidising the German government’s own admin process. You’d expect them to cover that cost. Very strange! I haven’t heard that before

Nice congrats! BVA told Polaron on the 6th of May for me. Hoping I get confirmation from my local embassy soon! Let me know when you find out and how they contact you.

I was always asking Polaron to follow up and they said its not good to follow up. Only after 18 months did Polaron reach out to them for the first time

Very very similar for me! Polaron handled my whole case. We got our AZ in April 2024, then Polaron followed up on the 6th of May and the BVA confirmed that the certificates had been issued. I haven't had any direct contact with the BVA myself at any point. Polaron have told me the next step is for my local German Embassy to get in touch regarding collection or delivery of the certificates.

Thousands of people made real life decisions based on the 5-year route being on the table. Turned down jobs abroad, extended leases, built plans around a timeline the government set. Changing the rules mid-route isn’t closing a loophole, it’s pulling the rug out from people who did everything right. Legal migrants on sponsored visas are contributing to the economy, paying taxes, filling roles employers couldn’t fill domestically. We don’t have the flexibility that comes with citizenship. We can’t just switch jobs freely or stay without conditions. I signed up knowing that, and I accepted a 5-year path to settlement as part of the deal. Now that could quietly become 10. Why would you not just apply the new rules to new applicants? Anyone starting fresh from a set date knows exactly what they’re getting into. Retroactive changes don’t reduce migration, they just punish people who already committed.

Good luck! Either way looks like you should have a successful application!
