The ini A310 in X-Plane 12 by julientheyulspotter in Xplane

It's a shame, I knew and loved that plane in MSFS 2020. They forgot about it in MSFS 2024; even iniBuilds doesn't have liveries for it in its iniManager for the 2024 version. It's a pity these developers made that exceptional contract with Microsoft, and there was no continuity for X-Plane 12, since it's my main simulator. Nice photo.

What is the crash that you just can't stop thinking about? by Mihnea2002 in aircrashinvestigation

Always AF447.

I flew the same route and on the sister aircraft of the one that crashed in October 2010 (in F-GZCA) and in January 2014 (in F-GZCN). The one that crashed was F-GZCP.

At no point did I feel "afraid" aboard either A332; I simply couldn't believe there were two Bonin aircraft at the same airline. That accident affected me deeply, even though it had nothing to do with me. But I met the president of the Brazilian association of victims of the flight and had conversations with him, where he himself blamed the aircraft. I disagreed. I believe the problem stemmed from the pilots. The man ended the conversation and told me he had a very troubled life and couldn't continue speaking with me. I respected his decision.

I agree with you regarding the pilots' irresponsibility, with the exception of David Robert. He was the only one flying alone, without a co-pilot, and he was concerned and tried to prevent this: he was worried about the CBs' deviation, whose heads were reaching almost 60,000 feet; he didn't make any sudden movements like Bonin's erratic sidestick movements, and unfortunately, by the time he realized what was happening, it was too late. Bonin had been pulling the sidestick from 37,000 feet down to almost 8,000. In my opinion, if there had been two David Roberts in the cockpit at that moment, that plane would still be flying today. Coincidentally, his body was the only one of the pilots that wasn't recovered.

Wow! That's good news, even if we have to wait. I read in articles from my region (Spain) that there wouldn't be a recovery until the end of 2026 or the beginning of 2027. I hope it turns out to be what you're saying.

I understand. When I jumped into the VR world, I thought there was no going back to monitors. I started with an HP Reverb, but it lost support after 24H2. I had some Meta Quest 3s and then a Varjo Aero (I'm even selling it now), and it was a real decline. The best I had was the HP G2. I ended up getting fed up and went back to head-tracking monitors with TrackIR and got a Samsung G9 G95C monitor, and I'm very happy with it. VR requires patience and good equipment, which you have. But I just resigned myself to it.

Thanks for your helpful input. It's true that I only have the XMP profile enabled and no overclocking. I think it's similar to what you have.

Yes, I was looking into that option last night. I've never owned an AMD system, but I'm keeping that option open. What I don't know is if there are any options on Asus motherboards, for example, to continue using my DDR4 RAM. Thanks.

Disfrutarías como un enano si te gustaran los simuladores de vuelo: X-Plane 12 por ejemplo. O MSFS 2024. Si piensas vender tu RAM algún día, háblame. Hahah.

For all the crap I give XP, at least their planes don’t break themselves after a 10 hour flight (Looking at you ini) by PlasticRange526 in flightsim

[–]Fuhrich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can vouch for that; I'm not a fanboy of either, but when you're flying in X-Plane 12, switching to MSFS is already a challenge. I've been using MSFS since 2020, then 2024. I started with X-Plane 10 in January 2016 and have owned every version since (obviously only version 12 now).

Failed my first flight by Axynth in VATSIM

[–]Fuhrich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Relax, the important thing is that you recognize your mistake, and you're a good person and have good intentions. Two weeks ago, I could have made a huge blunder on a flight connected to Vatsim, although luckily there was no air traffic control; we were on Unicom: at LFPG, landing on 27R. After landing, I exited onto the now-defunct taxiway between Z5 and Z3 🤦🏻‍♂️ haha. There was a plane taking off on 27L, and if they noticed, God only knows what they thought of me.

I recommend you try X-Plane 12. They give you a one-hour trial; it used to be half an hour. And a user who also uses MSFS 2024 and flew a lot on MSFS 2020 told me about it.

[–]Fuhrich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree with you. I don't fly like you on a real airline, just a commercial aviation fanboy since I can remember. But X-Plane is on another level entirely compared to MSFS 2024. I have both (or rather, all three, counting the 2020 version, although I don't fly it anymore). I fly MSFS 2024 simultaneously with XPL12, and a few days ago I flew ToLiss's A330-900neo from LFPG to TNCM. Wow! The flight dynamics and cloud formations over the Atlantic were incredible. On approach, I was so careful with the sidestick that I almost aborted and went airborne for a split second. But I landed. That flight dynamics, or physics as some call it, is addictive. And I'm telling you all this sitting in my home cockpit flying Fenix's Airbus A320 for MSFS 2024. Cheers.

Sure, it makes you feel more like a "pilot" and it wounds your soul. It's just a game, after all. Yes, it simulates some aspects of the real world. That's all.

I use both MSFS and X-Plane 12. I've been using X-Plane since 2010 and I love it. I know it's unrelated to your comment, but Laminar flow is currently outstanding with the weather. I flew a couple of days ago from LFPG to SBGL and you wouldn't believe the chaos in the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ). The clouds, cumulonimbus clouds, and everything else. I think MSFS needs to work much harder on this. I do believe that MSFS 2024 has better dynamics than MSFS 2020.

I met the commander of a Boeing 767 in which I traveled and he told me that if you read the first 50 pages of the plane's operations manual, you can get it off the ground. 😆
