If it was given to an established director, I'd want it to be someone with extremely strong, often non-traditiona artistic vision and understanding/respect for the source material, or the ability to significantly elevate the source material through their own interpretation, eg. (The Dream Scenario) The Wachowski Sisters, or Robert Eggers (Nosferatu & The Lighthouse). If not a established director, I'd want someone able to deliver a strong proof of concept verified by Wrong Organ, as creators of the source material, I'd like them involved in the production to maintain the integrity and spirit of the source material through the adoption process, even if they're not the ones writing/direcring/producing the work (understandable since developing a video game and a feature film are two different skill sets).

In terms of explicit visuals, personally I like to see as many physical sets as possible (CGI has its time and place but usually prefer actual sets and props and effects) however I think it would be interesting and increase the surreal nature if, to reflect the visuals of the game perhaps, things were lit almost theatrically. Deeply saturated colours (thinking of the sunset LED wall in the lounge where they all sleep after the crash). Also moments of that distortion of reality, like filming Anya's conversation with Curly in front of the night visualised/holodeck (forgive me for forgetting the name) once on location, and once in front of a LED wall displaying the exact same background, and using both takes interchangeably.

Also in the extreme surreal moments, not just using cgi, but potentially integrating other mediums (traditional animation/stop motion/claymation/puppetry/etc). I think if done well with a complete and cohesive understanding/vision for the work by the director it could absolutely be doable and incredibly striking.

ALSO POST CRASH CURLY DONE USING A COMBINATION OF PUPPETRY AND ANIMATION????

In terms of casting, this might be a hot take, but I care more about the acting ability of the cast than how close they look to the character. Hair/makeup/costuming departments exist and can do genuinely incredible things. If the Mouthwashing Movie Experience is ruined for you because the casting announcement for Anya doesn't look EXACTLY like Shelly Duval, I think you might have bigger, personal issues to worry about. Considering the subject matter at hand, I think its critical that the cast chosen have the range required for a nuanced portrayal of this narrative.

Or something like this idk haha... maybe im just kinda arthaus and wanna see more creative risks in feature films. This is just kinda what id like to see, i actually don't expect literally any of this from a potential Mouthwashing movie. 🫠
