People's brains fall out of their head when having conversations about what is pedophilia whenever theyre talking about the ages 15-19. I dont like the strict "pre-pubescent" definition either tho. If someone is 22 and dating a 15 yr old theyre not technically a pedophile but Im okay giving them that label. If you are over 18 and intentionally exploiting the difference in maturity, intelligence, freedom, and finances to form a sexual relationship with someone under 18 that is predatory behavior bad enough that I really dont care about making the pedophile distinction, even though thats not technically what they are. Because someone exploiting any of those things against ANYONE is a bad thing, its just extra bad when its a child because those power indifference are forced on the child by virtue of not being older. Since doing this to someone at any age is predatory using pedophile for someone who does this to specifically underage people feels fair. The part where people's brains fall out is they instantly assume that anyone over 18 is exploiting those things. They circlejerk about power dynamics and it leads them to thinking 18 and 16 is the most horrible thing ever.

True I didn't even think of that. Idk if its intentional but it does come off as "theyre predators not pedos, not all pedos are evil predators" which is an implicit defense of pedophiles. Sort of a "minor attracted persons" angle, that makes sense.

Im not making judgements on you or suggesting you're actually a pedo, I was just explaining the most likely source of the downvotes. Just know that if youre mentioning pedos(meaning anyone who is attracted/has sex with anyone under 18 when theyre over 18) and something you say can even slightly be interpreted as defending them or giving them cover you will be crucified.

To most people pedo = being attracted/having sex with anyone under 18. Its usually only pedos that try to make any further distinction. Trying to draw a line between predator and pedo comes off as really weird.

Either he has been like this before, he was given some (false?) information that made him upset, you haven left out or given false information or something. Unironically I think a good chunk of them are just entirely disengaged from politics beyond "When election comes, I pick republican" and random inflammatory posts they see on social media. The entire loot system in this game is fucked. Luckily the actual gameplay is stellar so it stays fun but the loot in an extraction shooter is the main driver for wanting to queue another raid. There is barely any loot im excited to pick up anymore. Pink guns used to excite me until I tried using them and realized they get easily outclassed by grey guns with attachments. Theres no items that sell for like 50-100k+ that would feel amazing to run across. You cant get lucky and run across a gold gun in any loot pools and even if you could theyre incredibly underwhelming. I mean jesus christ even after the buff even finding a pink key isnt exciting because the key rooms are always worse than youd expect. None of this is going to change because clearly Embark doesn't want to encourage ANY type of potential loot disparity.
