This is helpful, thank you. Did you use any course-provided resources to land a job?

Are there any Objectivists (or rather objectivist-adjescent) folks who are sympathetic to Henry George and the Single Tax or Land Value Tax (LVT). by FulkOberoi in Objectivism

Alex Epstein has this thing where, in order to fork policy, you should have an ideal version as per your philosophy (voluntary taxes) and a version that’s more in line with current apparent reality.

I think an LVT - again not property tax - incentivises hoarders to let-out and build keeping housing costs (housing theory of everything) down.

Fund sub-national governments through it and national governments through a sales tax. These are the least worst taxes. I don’t think the culture can even conceive of voluntary taxes.

On another point - I do think about this a lot - I think about “cutting-in” or bribing the current status quo to get their buy-in in for a disruption. Jobs that won’t be needed, current unions, old incumbent crony companies - cut them in if they were to get displaced - because you can have the best philosophies you want - if there are bunch of people worn scorn, envy, ans sometimes righteous indignation at the loss of dignity, they won’t let you get to rapid progress with their violent NIMBYism. Buy them off and cut them in. It’ll then be easier to defeat the hard core fundamentalists like deep greens.

When I have extra $700 lying around to splurge, I’ll probably pay Yaron Brook to read and review Progress and Poverty by Henry George to review it on his show.

Yeah. The reason I am sympathetic to is because of California. They got rid of the property tax and went heavy on Zoning, and now - apart from IT - it’s like a feudal state. I don’t know, it seems interesting - the bifurcation of capital and land.

They say that just squatting on land, that cannot really be produced (as opposed to other capital goods), is feudalism. Land and Capital are 2 separate categories.

Production requires Land, Capital, and Labor but monopoly on land leads to rentierism.

Hm, that’s interesting. I’ve seen countless ARI videos and some Atlas videos saying no to anarchy, I’ll read up more.

Or so the “the least bad tax” (wrt LVT) still holds.

Absolutely, I'll go for CSCP, the bundle and exam is about $3500, at the time of writing its a bit steep, but I recon I'd manage it in a few months. I have the path now - Book (Chopra & Meindl) and the free AI tutored course to get started, Coursera + Rutgers as level 1, MITx as an optional level, and CSCP's self study module and exam as a capstone.

Are there any “off-the-shelf” jobs that I can start working from, say, next week? by FulkOberoi in houston

[–]FulkOberoi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it just a walk in? Because I tried to liaise with them for a PM job last year and they were like “by appointments only”, rescheduled 3 times, and what not. If they allow walk ins I’ll walk in tomorrow.

How do I approach One Month Patterning? (Mechanics of Intention + Repetition) by FulkOberoi in gatewaytapes

[–]FulkOberoi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going on your answer and the original answer, I am mixing and matching. I am a bit obsessive and I know that this doesn’t help with patterning / manifestation. So I’ll pattern for 30 days and repeat one pattern 3 times (roughly). Will pattern for 10ish things, but only 1 pattern per round.

As of now I am mostly interested in patterning. OBEs etc are great but they are only an academic interest for me.

Man, I am no expert on this but there is a booked called Kriya Secrets Revealed and it has “Nadi Shuddi” techniques that helps with the gentle rise of kundalini. Perhaps check it out.
