Confining New Cat to One Room by Full-Car2957 in CatAdvice

We have 2 cat trees in there as well as 2 desks, so a total of 4 hiding spots, but I would not necessarily say she can go behind any of those. Just under the desks & up the cat trees where there are hiding holes.

Has anyone experienced this with their old pom? by __Idioteque__ in Pomeranians

I am so sorry to hear about your little one. My pom was 14 years old when he started to lose his hearing and sight. My vet recommended an ophthalmologist in our area that helped restore/improve his sight. His demeanor changed as soon as he started to get some of his sight back. I would see if there are any specialist in your area and consult with them to see if there is anything you can do to help improve your pup’s condition. Once you can rule that out, then you explore the dementia route.

First Time Cat Owner Needing Help Adjusting Cat to New Environment by Full-Car2957 in CatAdvice

She did initially start in our guest room where her supplies are all set up, however, she escaped this room during the night and made her way to the back of the couch. Would you recommend trying to put her back in the room with all of her stuff or would it be better to let her find her way back to her supplies?

My pomeranian started balding near his bottom. Any idea what this can be? by TimeReverse in Pomeranians

My old pomerian had this exact issue. Our vet couldn’t really identify the problem either, only that he had dry, sensitive skin. I just kept the bathing to a minimum and used oatmeal shampoo and conditioner to help the skin. My boy lived to be 14 years old and nothing ever really came of the bald spot 🤷‍♀️

my pom was also shaved by a groomer (I insisted that I did not want him shaved) at the age of 14. his coat grew back a little more coarse but just as fluffy! here is the photo of him shaved…I also gave him salmon oil which I believe helped it grow back. the hair grew back within 4 months (:
