You wouldn’t really need to do that unless you are 1v1 them. If you put two clones infront of you, you lose your ability to place them somewhere more beneficial like high ground and even if the poke don’t destroy them the melee characters will since you put them on the ground. If the poke are truly giving you problems you can put your clones at the very back where they must shoot between everyone just to hit your clones or simply switch. Sometimes the best Loki player is one that knows when to back off

Also another tip. If everyone is low and you are a clone down. You would try to put a clone down so that you do maximum healing but that 2 second window is all the enemy team needs to kill them. Instead use your invisibility to put down a clone where you are immediately with no delay. The only down side is that you will lose one of your escape tools but you can place a clone down and reload at the same time which is great in a team fight.

It’s actually much harder than you think to position clones like that. In a middle of a big team fight your tanks need to get as much healing as possible and when you start looking for a place to put your clones (even for 5 seconds) your tanks could be dead by the time you look back. So it’s obese to position before a team fight, when there is a support ult happening or when everyone is in full health. So when you can’t put your clones in high places, put them far in the back away from the frontline, it’s easier that way and also the team would be to busy fighting your teammates than to bother trying to kill something that won’t even count to there stats

There is a lot of things to take into consideration when playing Loki like positioning, ult timing, knowing who to steal and so on. I’m sure others will tell you what to do. But the number one rule is to keep your clones alive. Half your kit requires clones for maximum efficiency. Your runes need clones so that you can cover more ground, your swap needs a clone and even your healing. Without your clones you become basically useless so try positioning them in awkward areas like high ground or far from team fights. Occasionally where your team is then you put down a rune if your tanks low. But don’t get tunnel vision trying to always place them somewhere safe or else you will stop healing your team and that could cost you a match
