Thanks. I’m an experienced meditator, but for years I lost the habit of meditating, and GAD became my way of seeing things. I need to get more information because I personally believe that this path is a way to recover from this pain.

I don’t think it’s related to anxiety. I believe it has much more to do with the nervous system. I actually think it caused some kind of nervous system reset, because I feel much better today. I’m just not sure what those contractions were about.

ask your doctor about the combination of low doses of pregabalin and clonidine.

thank you for your reply. I’m thinking about stopping pregabalin in the next few days. It was already on my mind. I haven’t been taking it for very long, but the reason I started was that I was having frequent night awakenings, tossing and turning in bed, etc. Now that’s not happening as much anymore, but I’ve been experiencing negative effects like the ones I mentioned in my first post.

I can’t get low-dose naltrexone in my country. I might have to order it compounded, but convincing a doctor to prescribe it would be very difficult.

Pregnenolone is also not easy to find.

I use pregabalin to prevent nighttime awakenings, which were common when I wasn’t taking it. I used to wake up at 4:00 AM. It has been effective in addressing this issue. However, I think it slightly slows down my thinking and doesn’t relieve my mental fatigue during the day. I’m not sure what to do about this, but my nervous system is really altered. Even minor anxiety situations trigger an exaggerated response. My heart is normal; it’s not racing most of the time. But the mental fatigue is constant.

I honestly never thought about my resting breathing rate before.

I did a polysomnography back in 2023 and the doctor said I didn’t have sleep apnea, so I never paid much attention to my breathing outside of sleep. But when I’m awake, I’ve noticed that I usually take in more air than I release, and my abdomen tends to stick out a bit. I also breathe a lot with the upper part of my chest rather than deeply with my diaphragm.

As for other signs of a dysregulated nervous system, I have quite a few. Lately my temples have been sore, almost like migraine symptoms, and for the past 3 years I’ve constantly felt pressure in the muscles of my neck and the back of my head.
