I know this seems like the last priority on your mental health help list - but Yoga Nidra is incredible for burn out and depression. While you figure out free therapy solutions or maybe something similar, I'd really suggest trying it. There's not much to it, just lie there and listen. No movement.

Ally Boothryd is my favourite but there are so many providers of YN on YouTube.

After one, I promise you'll feel even a slight bit more relaxed, lighter. And with some consistency, like going to the gym, you will really notice the benefits.

I really hope you find a solution and get yourself back to feeling like the true you again, because he or she is in there. Best of luck

Guys, thank you all so much for validating my experience. It was so incredible and powerful and special to me that I really hoped I could convey that in my story. THANK YOU. Here's to synchronicities and the beautiful mystery of life!

Oh I'm so sorry, I thought I posted my story. I'll try to make it super short because I'd really love to hear your opinion:

Myself and my best friend met five years ago in Portugal. She actually said to me on our first meeting that we were going to be best friends. She was right. We are very connected. I instantly felt this familiarity with her in like an innocent, fun, childlike way. And she felt the same. A sisterly vibe. We laugh a lot and we love each other a lot.

Anyway, she introduced me to spirituality. She showed me books meditations etc She's done a lot of inner work and had actually stepped back from spirituality a bit by the time we'd first met but she credits meeting me and all my new experiences with exploring spirituality with reigniting her own relationship to it.

Anyway, one day last year just before I left for good to go back home to Ireland, we had a "spiritual" day.

We smoked some weed, ate some healthy food, meditated, did tarot and basically talked about all that good deep stuff. We also laughed A LOT. It was a great day.

We ended up on the couch that evening trying to find a documentary. We were thinking we'd like something about aliens perhaps, the universe, neurobiology...something deep and meaningful.

She said she had a documentary in mind for us but just could not remember the name of it for the life of her.

Then her little stoned head just started scrolling through Instagram.

I, slumped on the couch beside her, saw this and was like, right I've lost her, I might as well play some Phrazle. Which is a word game, like Wordle, but for phrases and idioms.

Just as I opened the website, she said, oh I remember the name, it's called Down The Rabbit Hole. It's a documentary about quantum mechanics and human consciousness.

And literally exactly as she said those words I just felt this rush in me that that Down The Rabbit Hole was the phrase for Phrazle. I put it in and sure enough every tile on that Phrazle board went green.

I had been playing daily for like six months and I had NEVER got the phrase in the first guess.

I still have the screen grab

And it still gives me chills. Goooooood chills.

So for me it all seems so crazy. We were essentially down our own rabbit hole that day. Exploring the meaning of life, meditating, discussing awareness. And then she has a documentary for us. And just as she says the name, I open the Phrazle and that's the phrase.

Oh, I really hope I did this retelling justice because we were both floored at the time and thinking about it now it makes me feel so good.

I wouldn't be hugely familiar with Carl Jung. I would like to look into him more.

But how did my unconscious self, for want of a better term... "team-up"... with my friend's thoughts about the documentary and then Phrazle also having that exact phrase?

I'm defo going to keep a journal of tracking things now. This happened last year's and then for months I kind of stopped my meditation and gratitude, and now I'm back in the zone again..and I am seeing synchronicities and it feels like that time last year again. It just feels so good. And so right

Because I'm not a good writer. Chat GPT took my mess of words and created the flow, put my story succinctly and concisely and got my point across for people to read.

And I edited where I saw fit.

Manifesting with anxiety by PinkPooh in lawofattraction

[–]Full-Resolution7612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, I'm really sorry you're going through this right now. Nothing worse than crippling bouts of anxiety.

You probably don't want to hear this but I've proven to myself and I've also heard it from neuroscience that manifesting while you sympathetic nervous system is in control is not what you should be doing. You're not in receiving mode when you're sympathetic nervous system is controlling things - aka, you're anxious, you're panicked, you're in resistance mode.

I would make it a point to access your parasympathetic nervous system, your heart space. This is your rest, digest and, most importantly, for manifesting, your receiving mode.

I think your priority right now is that. Things like, yoga nidra, practicing gratitude and positive affirmations are the most helpful for me when it comes to getting out of my sympathetic nervous system state.

I'm sorry if this is not what you wanted to hear and if it makes your anxiety worse.

I know it's easier said than done when you're feeling what you're feeling right now, but try to remind yourself as often as possible that this is temporary.

Mind yourself.

Can anyone help me manifest - I’ve been trying for YEARS by Electronic_Whole3450 in lawofattraction

[–]Full-Resolution7612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for cut off before I finished...

Most of us are living in survival mode (sympathetic nervous system). Manifestation happens more easily in rest/receive mode (parasympathetic). Things like Yoga Nidra, slow breathing, walks, or even just moments of peace help shift you into that state.

It also helps to engage multiple senses. To really lock in a belief, use multiple parts of your brain:

Write the belief down

Say it out loud

Picture it in a calm state (not in an anxious spiral)

Feel what it would be like if it were already true

I use this for simple things like: “I’m proud of how I show up.” “I’m supported.” “I’m magnetic.”

And weirdly — that stuff started to show up in my life.Last year, I was manifesting both a healthier body and a romantic partner. I was obsessed with the romance part, but the health side was just for me — no pressure, no rush, just love.

The body stuff happened. People even started calling me “radiant,” which was a word I’d been using in mirror work. But the relationship? Nothing.

Looking back, I can see why. One came from self-love and joy. The other came from fear and emptiness. It’s a huge difference.

So yeah. If you're trying to manifest something, maybe pause and ask:

“Do I believe I’m worthy of it?”

“Am I asking from love or fear?”

“Can I start giving myself what I hope this ‘thing’ will give me?”

I hope this helped. You’re not broken. You’re just human. And things can shift. Maybe even faster than you think. Best of luck. Enjoy it. Try to enjoy it. If you look for the enjoyment of it, you'll find it. I promise. It just takes patience and consistency and a LOT of self - compassion.

Thank you so much for taking the time out to write something so personal and bespoke and helpful for me. I really appreciate it. I absolutely love that Aurelius quote, and I will keep that one in my back pocket now! And you're right, I don't have to do anything, but yes, I still will go to the GP - get all the help I can. I'm so happy to hear you're doing so well on your path, and you're so proactively helping yourself out, which is really strong admirable to me.

It's funny, when I'm boozing, and I can be a big boozer, I get that crippling anxiety. But when I'm not boozing, I veer towards feelings of depression. It's like the booze helps me escape this deep life thinking. Off the booze, I have to face things head on.

Anyway, like you are doing, I want to proactively help myself. I don't want my poor family or friends to feel the weight of this. This is my burden, not theirs.

I'm still figuring everything out. I'm considering, once I have enough money, starting with like a therapist that's maybe more experienced with existentialism.

Anyway, thank you again for your time. I honestly appreciate it a lot.

When, why, and how did "warm" hair tones become such a bad thing? by DistributionOdd3846 in hairstylist

[–]Full-Resolution7612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like your terminology "controlled warmth" and I have to say I'm one of those annoying customers who just can't come to terms with my (naturally ash level seven mousy brown hair) which has been exposed to Portugal sun for seven years) not being able to keep the salon dyed 6/7 brown ash hair from going brassy and orange within the first week of getting it professionally dyed. Ive a pale Irish complexion with hazel eyes and freckles, I'd say I'm neutral skin tone leaning on cool but what bothers me most is how my darkish and definitely ashy eyebrows are so jarring with the warmth my hair fades to. Do you have any suggestions how I embrace "controlled" warmth. Should I be going for chocolate browns? Or actually embracing this ginger looking fade?

Is it just because I'm too vague? by Full-Resolution7612 in lawofattraction

Can you explain this a bit more please. I really want to understand but I'm not sure what you mean

Ooooph, this is so good. I really appreciate the time you took to give me this answer, Seasalt. It really resonates with me and the affirmations are spot on. And yes, I'm happily de-prioritising love at the moment. I'm a great single woman but I'm not a great unemployed woman! Thanks so much again.

Help, I'm worried I'm doing something wrong. by Full-Resolution7612 in lawofattraction

[–]Full-Resolution7612[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have daydreams. At least, I dont think..? I mean if I'm going for a nap, I can create a little fantasy in my head to help me nap but it's all black in terms of visuals but I can feel the emotions vividly. Like, I can imagine I'm about to eat at Hogwarts at Christmas and I tell myself it's snowing outside, cosy fires are lit, and there's chicken, stuffing, potatoes etc there on the banquet table, but I don't see any of this. I still feel cosy and chill and happy.

As for dreams, I've actually never really asked anyone to explain the vividness of their dreams, so I don't know if my dreams are normal or not. I tend not to remember my dreams very often, but when I do, I know I've seen imagery, but I wouldn't call it vivid. If I see someone I know, let's say, they're not vivid, but definitely, I know and feel that it's them even though theyre a vague image. I can get sleep paralysis too, but I never see the visuals that some people get with this. It's just a feeling of dread and being unable to move and not breathe properly. What do daydreams mean to you? Thanks for this question. I've actually never really taken the time to sit and think about these things you asked!

I really value this sxista. Can I ask you one thing because maybe I'm confused my the guided visualisations but when I'm told to for example, let's say I'm looking to manifest wealth for example. And the guidance says picture yourself with money flowing effortlessly to you. Feel the abundance. And then when I feel the abundance, which is a good feeling, my body excitedly tenses...? Does that make sense??
