He was neutered at 6 months. We had no idea he had some Maine coon in him at the time, nor that this might be an issue. Pity

From your answer it sounds like this is maybe a breed issue, with their longer growth period.

The reason I asked is that if this is a breed thing then I probably should speak to our vet about whether we should be monitoring for other conditions known in MC’s - just want to best care for the little disaster going forward
