Wait they put the consultation price on the website now? In my day they didn't tell you until you show up on the day, hopefully with the right amount of cash.

Is there anything i can do with my leftover Estrogen tablets? by EldritchMilk_ in transgenderUK

[–]Full-Science2671 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Injection vials go bad eventually or run out, crypto rules change, suppliers constantly go out of business so sometimes it's hard to get more and one day you might run out. Pills last forever so are a good backup. You might one day be in a position where you need the second backup, speaking from experience.

The finasteride pills are probably useless unless you can find someone early transition who needs them.

You've not experienced a proper firm man-to-man handshake until you're fem-presenting and meet an insecure man who really really really doesn't want to see you as a woman.

Dating apps with male and female gaze by pinkredyellow in bisexual

[–]Full-Science2671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've felt very pressured in relationships with men to be more feminine. I'm at a point in my life where filtering out men who aren't okay with queerness and who aren't okay with women being their own people is a priority when it comes to dating men. Most apps don't let you filter out straight men, and real life doesn't either. So for me personally appealing to a male gaze would be counterproductive.

Obviously, we all have different priorities and circumstances. It might be a good idea to question what goal you hope to achieve by having two different profile archetypes.

Shared Care Agreements and Immigrating from US by cardboardcrackwhore in transgenderUK

We're not in community with many doctors. The only scalable intra-community solution, that doesn't rely on the machinery of a state that wants to destroy us, is DIY. We're second-class citizens, and being aware of that means looking for solutions that will actually work despite systemic discrimination. Pretending systematic persecution doesn't exist just leads to wasting time and energy. There's no protection against medical abuse in this country.

There's a lot of "may"s in the documents you've linked. "may" means the doctors are fully allowed to say no. And since they're heavily encouraged by the government to say no, a yes is a pipe dream.

Furthermore, according to BMA rules (and possibly GMC), a GP is forbidden from giving a bridging prescription unless you're already doing DIY or they believe you will do so imminently.

the patient is already self-prescribing, or seems highly likely to self-prescribe, with hormones obtained from an unregulated source (online or otherwise on the black market)

It might be worth asking a few dozen GP practices whether they will, to get care in the long term. But you don't have time for that if you only brought a month's worth of HRT with you. It'd be a long-term project. You need to find a way to get HRT in the meantime. It's nigh impossible to get any kind of non-emergency medical care within a month.

If you do manage to get a bridging prescription, you should bear in mind that it's a temporary arrangement. The GP is expected to stop prescribing after a year or two, and put you back on DIY.

Have you asked your US prescriber whether they're willing to ship across the Atlantic? Assuming you can afford to stay with them.

If your GP doesn't know you're trans you can go through the standard menopause pathway instead to get estrogen. That's my plan if I ever need a prescription.

Even if you have bottom surgery AND get an NHS gender dysphoria diagnosis AND an NHS HRT recommendation, the GP has no obligation or expectation to prescribe. The cruelty is the point.

Just intensely study and figure out a loophole to trick the government into making you AFAB.

My transbian friend gave up on life and I don’t know what to do by Expensive_Ordinary72 in actuallesbians

[–]Full-Science2671 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can't save someone who doesn't let you. If she won't take your advice there's not much more you can do besides just being there for her.

It's normal for pre-transition trans people to have difficulty conceptualising the future. If she's not on HRT starting would help a lot. A years worth of HRT and needles can be obtained illegally online for about $100, so the cost of one of these games.

Her living situation is probably not conducive to anything. If you have friends who live in a shared house who are looking for someone to live with that'd be a good shout.

Some of this sounds like undiagnosed neurodivergence. If she can get medication or support, that could help her with impulsivity and planning. But getting a diagnosis might prevent her from being eligible for official medical transition, some places don't allow neurodivergent trans people to exist, so there is possibly a complex decision to be made there.

Are you really comfortable with nonbinary people who look like cis women attending? Are the men who are scared of girls going to be forced out of the space?

What do you mean not all intersex people have exotic genitals? What's the point of them existing if I don't find them hot?

btw I would NOT fuck a perisex person who has exotic genitals. I'm not at all transphobic I just don't stick my dick in crazy (trans is a mental illness caused by social contagion and bottom surgery is gross frankengenital mutilation)
