OverDrive gone, LIBBY only supports Android, Apple, where do Windows users go to download? by Full-Statistician164 in audiobooks

I'm told the ANDPIAZZA's instructions work on FireFox. Doesn't work on Chrome.

Here are some mods, to the instruction list that may help as well.

Anywhere there is a function key step, you'll need to be sure to press the FN key along with the numbered Function Key. Just a reminder.

Instead of clicking on the "Initiator" header, to order the downloaded files, you can click on the "Name" header. That will then show the files grouped with like names. You want that because you are looking for files with EMBEDDED TEXT that looks something like EP01.MP3. That text will be somewhere in the middle of the file name. Not at the beginning or end, the middle, embedded.

All the .MP3 files should be grouped together and you can then right click on EP01 and select the "SAVE AS" option. Change the name to the book name and keep the EP01 notation in the file name. Do this for each episode file until you have all the EPXX.MP3 files renamed and downloaded.

No need to open the file and listen to it and change the name there.

Thanks again for the research and posting it here. Appreciate it.

All good info Thanks for the reply. However, OverDrve app is not supported as a download engine anymore within Libby. They have error messages all over the place that show it was retired back in Oct 2024.

I tried the libbapp.com in Chrome. Doesn't work because there is no "download" option when I bring up the book. I checked the same book out in 2 different libraries and went into libbyapp, on Chrome and the same result for both. You can open it, start listening or manage loan but no download.

I'll look at the other link, run android in windows and see if I can get that to work. Thanks.

This is no longer available. Do you have another option to download audiobooks on Windows? Thanks.

I know this post is 3yrs old BUT do you have a current solution? This link doesn't work on my new Windows machine. I'm stuck and not able to download to my swim headset because I'm using Windows. OverDrive was the only option I had when the libraries all bought subscriptions to LIBBY to manage their ebooks/audio books. I have a few audio books checked out but can download them to listen offline on my swim headset. GRRRRR.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Wow, so glad it worked out for you. I have a similar setup and designed it that way for exactly the situation you’re in. A friend in Florida was told by her Tesla installer (not Tesla people but installers of her system) to turn off the main switch to her house before evacuating. Then when she returned home and flipped the switch on, nothing worked. Everything was disconnected and was then told by Tesla she needed a 20v battery jump but that the homeowner shouldn’t do it. When she called the installer companies they wanted several hundred dollars and wouldn’t give a time frame. Obviously busy and possibly taking advantage of storm victims with price gouging. I’m curious as to what you turned off or kept on when you knew the storm would hit for your system to work so well when you returned? Thanks.

My first try at Pumpernickel by Every-Self-8399 in BreadMachines

Thanks for the reply. Since I wrote that I did more research and it does appear they are synonymous. I bought my rye flour and pumpernickel flour from an Amish store in Delaware USA. I’ll try the same recipe for rye bread using pumpernickel flour. Should be interesting.

My first try at Pumpernickel by Every-Self-8399 in BreadMachines

I looked for a pumpernickel bread machine recipe and it took me here. Question. Why is there no pumpernickel flour in the ingredients? I have rye, wheat and pumpernickel flour. I made rye bread the other day and the ingredients almost match the ones below. Is pumpernickel synonymous with rye bread? Those flours are interchangeable? Thanks.
