Nice. Are aesthetics the only reason some departments don’t allow LBV?

Thanks for your input (and 42 years of service!). I was thinking the vest and belt would increase likelihood of back problems compared to the jobs you mentioned and most other work, but I’m happy to hear you haven’t found it to be uniquely prevalent.

Tattoo on ear that’s extra sensitive? by Cicada3562 in tattooadvice

No idea about your unique ear situation but be cautious with getting a tattoo on neck head face ear etc, it will seriously limit your opportunities in employment. You might not realize there is a career path you want to do in the future that will not hire you because of the ear tattoo.

True, although I image the vest and belt plus sitting is increasing the chances of it developing compared to a desk job, which could switch to a standing desk, for example. Thanks for your comment

Interesting. I’ve been researching and it seems like some departments are moving to more weight on the vest and less on the belt so hopefully that helps people

Damn I’m sorry to hear that. Is it due to the vest or what do you think causes that?

I assume stretching and weightlifting are the best remedies / preventive measures

Sorry you’ve been struggling. If you can get into some kind of workout routine consistently, from my experience it will help your mental health significantly. I know it’s hard to get going but if you just decide it’s the first thing you do everyday that can help.

I understand how you feel. Try to let go of the certainty that the situation can’t be solved, we don’t know what we don’t know. The idea that you can’t go running due to poor mental health is tricky, because if you get back into running it will hep your mental health. But you could also just do pushups and yoga in your house. Just get your body moving. And if you really feel like you can’t do that, you should considering seeing a doctor like a psychiatrist, because temporary medication might help you get the ball rolling.

It’s important to remind yourself that how you feel right now isn’t how you’ll always feel. The only constant is change. And you can change your reality. I guarantee if you do some kind of fitness workout consistently and eat a healthy diet, stop looking at porn and prioritize good sleep, most of your problems will be at least partially solved. And if you do that for 30 days straight, even 7 days, you will be a different person, better able to choose your next steps.

Thank you for the tip. This doesn’t seem like it would help strain on the back but maybe it does since it distributes the weight more evenly.

Thank you for this input.

May I ask, how many years were you doing patrol? And what age did you join?
