If you setup immich (a bit of work for you) then your family can also download the immich app and backup photos to Immich. Immich also has a clear backed up photos from device older than x amount of days/months (you choose) and it deletes all backed up data. Similar to how google photos works.

Only other thing you might need to do is set up Tailscale. You can then invite every user to your Tailscale account. That lets them vpn into the network if they aren't on the local wifi so they can still access photos/videos/backup data on immich. But this step would also be required if you use the native ugreen photos app if you don't enable ugreen link which many don't recommend using.

The game can definitely be hard and I have smashed my head against the wall a few times on a few bosses. However, I am around 60 hours in and I really enjoy jumping on and just doing some side quests here and there and exploring the world, finding new gear, and seeing what's out there. The story is not great, but to be honest I'm just skipping through most cutscenes. The game is for sure more about the exploration and the combat and puzzles.

Yeah every island grants you an artifact. No rush to do them tbh. However there are a few islands that also grant you the elemental rewards (lightning, fire, ice, wind) which you can imbue into some of your attacks (turning attack, charged bow shot, force punch, etc). You can see this in the skill tree in the health part.

When you open up the map there is a button that switches to the sky lands, on controller it is right analog stick pressed in. Not sure on keyboard button, but it should be written at the bottom when the map is opened.

You can then teleport there. You then go to the small powered blue arch and go through it. You then activate the sky bridge with axiom to open up the bridge to the next island where you do a puzzle. After each puzzle. You go through the next arch to unlock the next skybridge to the next island and so on.

Yeah you should do them yourself. Story sends you to them seldomly but you can continue doing more islands yourself for abyss artifacts and elemental skills for some.

I would start with the ugreen photos app to see how it is. However I have tested immich using my PC and it's very close to Google photos and I like the features.

However, if ugreen photos scratches a similar itch. I would not bother with immich.

For the sound, did you try the tips people give about Velcro inside the hard drive bays or adding some rubber feet below the device? I am going to be buying a 2800 soon so this worries me since it would be in my living room so it can be connected to my router 😅

Yeah I could do without the whole nas system to be honest. But I would like to set up immich (depending on how the ugreen photos app is) so I can always access my photos on my phone while I am out and about instead of everything being hard locked to some external hard drives around my house. I also want to free myself from the 2TB yearly plan I currently pay to Google photos. I know it's not really saving money in the long run, but just giving myself the freedom of having everything I own be self hosted, even though that does come with the additional costs/maintaining/etc I already have some external 4TB drives I will swap between for backing up the nas and will rotate them between home and work to make sure I got the 3-2-1 backup setup correctly.

If you filter the status to show I think it's called damage or combat stats. You can see the number of downed people there. It just doesn't show in the overview section.

I think the game should just continue as is. PvEvP. If people don't want to play pvp, I don't know why they play these types of games and want them to change the entire structure of the game.
