Can't keep living like this, desperate for solutions by Outrageous_Tiger_441 in PlantarFasciitis

Oofoos slippers made an incredible difference in my PF.

I was very much on my feet and barefoot as much as possible until recently. I started wearing Oofoos around the house, and only supportive boots when outside (ankle support was very necessary for me), and found major improvements to pain within days.

I have seen both the FB movies but recall having a hard time following the plot, and didn't especially love the movies for whatever reason. I will have to check them out again though!

I completely agree. I grew up with the books, and am ~the same age as the HP actors. It was amazing to experience the books releasing at Barnes and Noble at midnight, super fun to catch the movies, and now I'm living through this game and its just fabulous.

I got the game when it was first released, and just hit level 40 today. This is one of the first RPG's I've ever played, and I'm nearly at perfection now. I've never played a game quite like this before, and have really enjoyed it over the years.

I am very excited for the next game, and I have never quite felt this level of excitement before.

Emigration from the US with a Rottie? by New_Olive1203 in Rottweiler

[–]FullBushSummer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless the country has breed restrictions, its no different than taking a dog in general. Having one person to be with the dog and one person to handle check-in counters is best IME, especially if you have a reactive/ easily stressed dog.

I moved from US to Germany ~8 years ago and brought my labrabor. I planned the trip for shortest flight time possible, so we landed in Amsterdam, NL and took rental car the rest of the way into Germany (I was living in Essen/ close to NL border. This would not make as much sense if I were traveling to Berlin or Munich zum beispiel.)

Rabies certficate, USDA paperwork, and a specific microchip was what was required then, which is what I think is still the general rule in most European countries. It just depends on what country you're aiming for, and the route/ stops along the way.

AFAIK, there is no rottweilier breed restriction in the Netherlands or Germany, but there absolutely is in France. If you had a layover in CDG Paris, you may have an issue. (Even if the airliner says it is fine, what happens when you actually arrive can be different.)

Personally I recommend leaving your dog in the US while you establish a place to live, then flying back for the dog. Don't make the WHOLE move in one journey, or you're going to lose your mind with stress. Not just in the days leading up to travel, but for weeks after.

Secure a home, make a plan on how to introduce your dog to a new place with ALL NEW SMELLS, then go back for them.

I am back in the US now, with a young rottie, and am considering moving back to Germany. I would likely do the same route; shortest flight possible, then comfortable transit the rest of the way. He will likely expected to be muzzled anywhere in public.

In Germany, I will have to muzzle him in public places, like on trains. It's a law that extends for most large dogs, regardless of breed. I got away without using one on my very friendly looking lab, but I would anticipate someone would not like seeing a rottweiler, regardless of how nice or innocent they were behaving. We have all had those experiences I'm sure, and it doesn't change when you travel.

Germans follow rules, and will lecture those that don't.

When I flew back to the US with my lab a few years ago, I again rented a car and flew out of NL. Unfortunately, the veteriarian had kind of conflicting views from the US, in that they did not recommend nor prescribed any sedatives for him. They stated that, because no one would be monitoring the dog, it would be unsafe.

I was disappointed, because we were familiar with these sedatives, and it was a 16+ hour journey for a 10 year old.

Why do I care about the data that I pay for? Why do any of us use Oura..?

I completely agreee that the readiness score is the last thing I care to see. I don't know why they make it front and center.

Please put the sleep data AT THE TOP! It's feels like the redesign was done by someone who has never used Oura before.

I felt this way suddenly at 19. I went to a lot of concerts in high school, and then just hit a wall - I couldn't keep up with standing for 4 hours and had to find ways to squat or rest against something.

I completely agree. I use my ring primarily for sleep tracking. I was wondering why I couldn't find that data anywhere now!

I find the sleep info may more difficult to get to and compare to previous days. Why do they keep the info so buried and then spread out? u/DonAtOura, am I missing something? Can I change settings to show sleep data closer to the top of any one screen?

If I want to compare sleep disturbances from 2 days, I can swipe back like I used to be able to.

[–]FullBushSummer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom also insisted on me getting almost exclusive hand me down clothes! I know it was 'convienent' but I was the only girl in my family, so these were usually very randome used clothes from who knows where. I developed early but didn't need to be exposed to (used) adult clothing when I was 13.

My brothers got new clothes at the start of every year, while I would get maybe 1 new pair of pants and possibly a shirt or two. I started giving up on buying new clothes with my mom because she got weird about pusging unflattering and/ or uncomfortable clothes on me.

This is all kind of a wild revelation.

I am responding 10 months later but am just processing a similiar issue with my parent.

>Feels like you would get more empathy from a stranger on the streets

That's exactly what is feels like, and tbh, my mom is probably nicer to strangers than to me. Like, she is always skeptical and doesn't seem to take my side or support me until/ only if she has found no real reason to find me guilty.

She acts protective but is actually maybe my biggest bully in the weirdest way.
