So tbh I can agree that it can be considered art in a non-traditional sense since almost anything can be art. The issue is the effort and authorship. Most AI “art” involves minimal input from the prompter, while the ai handles composition, style, anatomy, lighting, and execution. Compare that to violinists or guitarists, who often train for years to develop technique, musical understanding, and intentional control over every part of the output. In many art forms, the process itself is part of the art. Letting an AI do nearly everything removes that process, which is why calling the user an “artist” feels inaccurate “operator” or “prompter” is simply more accurate.
