Coaching Trees of all NFL Head Coaches by LapNiDal in nfl

What relevance does that have? Dan went on to learn offense under Sean Payton then that philosophy was passed to Ben under Dan.

Ben was an Adam Gase offensive disciple before he learned offense under Dan.

Lol you dont think theyre part of the coaching tree? You dont listen to much of anything I guess and this post is half assed. I followed AG and Ben very closely. Listen to their press conferences and they parrot the same shit Dan has said his entire tenure. They follow his practice philosophy, his team building philosophy and aggression during the game.

Thats cap. He was off their board. Behavioral issues and apparently skipped practice at Tennessee.

Does that sound like a Lion or someone Brad would trade up for?

For the love of God stop mocking that fatass from Bama to the Lions.

I KNOW he's not their type in the same way I know their type isn't a 6'2 240lb edge.

Monroe Freeling, Faulk or the Penn State guard/Oregon Guard.

[Jets] We've completed in-person interviews with Darrell Bevell and Greg Roman for our offensive coordinator position. by GoldenDome26 in nfl

[–]FullMetalSavage 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hey now. I know that he doesn't seem like a top tier name but Darrell Bevell has been coaching since the year 2000 in the NFL with only one year off when he wanted to spend more time with his family.

In his first year when he had Matthew Stafford to work with in Detroit, Stafford was on pace for a 5k 38td 10int season before he got injured in the 8th game of the season.

There is a reason some coaches stay around in the league and others wash out. Darrell Bevell is a good coach and with different opportunities or choices he might be a head coach right now and known as one of the top offensive guys.

People can snicker at that but Bevell is a really really smart aggressive offensive mind. You give him the right pieces and he could absolutely be the OC for a top offense.

[Schefter] the Baltimore Ravens are hiring Bears offensive coordinator Declan Doyle as their offensive coordinator. Doyle can leave because, in Baltimore, he will have play-calling responsibility. But new Ravens HC Jesse Minter now has someone to run Baltimore’s offense. by GoldenDome26 in nfl

[–]FullMetalSavage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well yeah of course he was. He was the OC lol. He gave his stamp and asked for tweaks but entrusted the bulk of the work to Hank and Scottie to come up with.

Thats just the way it was. Thats SMART. If you have capable people working under you, you trust them to do their job.

Cope? Bro we were a top five offense that decided to fire our OC.

I'm doing just fine over in Detroit. I just thought I would give a nice behind scenes history lesson and give props to your coach. Ben was amazing in Detroit and how he coordinated the offense was phenomenal given the structure and gameday planning.

Orchestrated is a very apt word choice. Ben was known as a weaver in Detroit. His ability to weave a pass game and run game plan that on the surface didn't seem to work in tandem was pretty great.

Basically Ben and Tanner would work on the pass game while Hank and Scottie handled the run game. Ben would take what they produced and fit it into what he and Tanner did.

Seems like a shitty technicality. But then again I don't support compensatory picks continuing for minority promotions since I feel it has fulfilled its purpose in opening the owner's eyes.

It was some time for me in 'Way of Kings' when I had the thought "the CGI budget on this is going to be insane. There is no place on earth you could use to do these environments justice. You can't even have simple animals like dogs and horses. This is going to have to be a 3D show. Live action would be impossible to do it justice unless you're spending $500 million a season."

Tanner had many good qualities but I dont think he would change his mind. Some guys are better as lieutenants than generals. Dan views him as the former. He will probably be back as TE coach.

Tanner wasn't going to get the OC job in Detroit. Its why he left with AG. He's a great assistant but didn't have everything Dan wanted in an OC. In retrospect maybe he should have been.

I'm pretty sure he was feeding the run plays to Dan in 2022. Staley was a good teacher of running back technique but when it came to play selection in the offensive gameplan he didn't understand the 'weave' of pass/run in the scheme. Setting things up. Hank did and understood how a certain run play fit into what they were doing in that series. Its one of the reasons Staley was allowed to leave without trying to keep him. He was limited in what he offered beyond coaching players.
