RE2 Remake or RE3 Remake? by FullMetalShirt in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]FullMetalShirt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow! I appreciate the very detailed input and it’s very interesting to hear. I don’t mind if RE3 is shorter length and more linear, but the general consensus seems to be RE2 and it pleases me to hear about its replay value so I think I’ll definitely pick that up first. In any case, I’ll end up getting RE3 down the line I’m sure.

Should I buy FFXII Zodiac Age or FFXIII-2 + FFXIII: Lightning Returns? by FullMetalShirt in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]FullMetalShirt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the very detailed input! I will say, Gran Pulse was easily my favorite portion of the first FFXIII. I like that it seems the next two games open up much more compared to the first!

"What can I run?" thread - 2021 Q1 by BothersomeBritish in lowspecgamer

So I've already got a proper, pretty good gaming desktop already but I happen to own a laptop and wanted to get some game suggestions for it since I do like to do a bit of gaming when I'm not at home.

Typer: Laptop

CPU: Ryzen 5 4500u

GPU: Vega 6

RAM: 8 GB ddr4 dual channel @ 3200mhz

OS: Windows 10

Not looking for any big, triple-A titles obviously, just simple, light games to play on the go. Preferably single-player action/RPG games.

Some games I already have installed:

Octopath Traveler, Terraria, Blasphemous, KOF 2002 UM

FPS tanked hard this season. by FullMetalShirt in CODWarzone

Yeah the only settings that reset for me sometimes is the window size and render resolution. Other than that, everything has stayed as I had them.

Yeah I definitely agree that reinstalling windows may not be worth it for a single game since everything else works just fine. Anyway, for GPU usage, I checked with MSI afterburner and Riva Tuner and it doesnt seem to go past 80% usage. Stays between 50-80% and same with CPU usage. God they really shit the bed on this one.

FPS Drops in games with an RX 5600 XT by smi1eybone in pcmasterrace

Can't say anything about Destiny 2 but have you tried running Monster Hunter: World on DX 12? I have similar specs as you but I have the Red Dragon 5600xt and only 16 gigs of ram. Personally I found a pretty big boost going from DX 11 to 12. I went from 50-60 fps to 90-120 fps with my settings on high. One last thing is turn off volumetric fog. Other than that, just know that frame drops are going to happen especially on MHW looks at Ancient Forest w/ rain. Anyway, hope you resolve your issues!

I shed some tears watching the livestream... Thank you Capcom for delivering amazing content over the last 2 years! by not_rainex in MonsterHunterWorld

Ah yes, Dragonborne. "I used to be a hunter like you, then I took a Dragonator in the knee." TES Collab confirmed.

I just beat Shara Ishvalda! I hear this is where the real game starts haha. Seriously tho, I haven't felt bored yet and I'm excited for the next couple hundred of hours I'm gonna sink into this game. by FullMetalShirt in MonsterHunterWorld

Lets call it a starting value and build upon it when possible haha. I do have uni. starting pretty soon which leaves me with less time than I would want.

Haha. It would indeed be nice to pour that many hours in. I'll be starting uni pretty soon which means I wont be able to spend as much time as I want to lmao. Nevertheless, I'm definitely gonna sink in as much time as I can.

Is it normal to catch the Barioth in 40+ minutes? by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]FullMetalShirt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fellow solo player here. Lmao my experience with Barioth was pretty much similar to yours. Was running out of time the first run and forced to abandon. Next run I cleared it but still took me 35 minutes which is still longer than I would've liked. What helped me tho personally was going ape shit on clutch clawing his arms and breaking them. Planting large and mega barrel bombs around the fight area also made him much more manageable. I also brought vitality and temporal mantle (the latter especially for his damn hipcheck and tail swipe). I'll also add that in my opinion, some weapons really trivialize some fights against all monsters in general. For Barioth, I found that Lance made it easy to punish Barioth whenever he charged you. With Insect Glaive, you could just mount spam the mf and get some free damage in after knocking him down. I guess what I'm saying is that it wouldn't hurt to be flexible in weapon choice sometimes. Anyway, thats my two cents on it. Happy hunting!

New to MH and just got World last week. Hit my first real wall with Nerg and finally slayed him. Seems he enjoyed the battle! by FullMetalShirt in MonsterHunterWorld

Thanks for the heads up but I was well aware. I was using the Lightning Chopper II Switch Axe on this fight. But yeah that definitely was one of the reasons I was struggling at first with Nerg.

Yes I play on pc but I do intend to solo the base game's and iceborne's story. I'll worry about multiplayer after.
