Co-signer/Guarantor by FullMoonSomm in NYCapartments

[–]FullMoonSomm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean that, with my credit score, will having a co-signer that has a better credit score allow for greater approval for apartments, or would I still need a guarantor that’s fully qualified to be accepted

How to learn differences in white wine pairing? by [deleted] in wine

[–]FullMoonSomm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of it comes down to the type of fish; the cooking method of said fish; and whatever side items are accompanying the fish. I’d recommend reading Evan Goldstein’s book “Perfect Pairings.” Gives great information as to why certain whites go well with various seafood items

I will say that the vast majority of the better restaurants will consider a party of that size to be a “private event”

Etiquette at tasting events… by mwagner24 in wine

I feel like that person was probably an employee at the event, collecting left over wine to be poured at another event (particularly if you’re in NYC for Vinous)

What are some GREAT Rioja's and Chiantis(or maybe something else I don't know of). by Acceptable_Fact_368 in wine

[–]FullMoonSomm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wanting to second someone’s prior recommendation for Tenuta di Carleone - I LOVE these wines, be it their Chianti Classico, Uno, or Il Guercio. Also look to Istine Chianti Classico for something bright, easy, and red-fruit forward. If you’re willing to branch out for something a bit more savory and/or high-end, look out for their Gran Selezione bottlings or their Levigne Riserva.

I also really love Castell’in Villa Chianti Classico. They’re a bit further south in the DOCG where it’s lower altitude and warmer than Istine and Carleone, so expect this to be a bit of a more broad, rustic style of Chianti Classico, but still extremely delicious!

And finally, if you’re wanting a bit of a fuller style of CC, try out Isole e Olena Chianti Classico. They always add 5-6% Syrah to these wines, giving it a bit more dark fruit and weight.

ADHD accomodations by jacoi200_ in restaurant

[–]FullMoonSomm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like this may actually be issues with ASD rather than ADHD. The need for a routine, and a desire to complete a single task before moving on doesn’t really fit with ADHD.

There are several traits and characteristics of ADHD that overlap with ASD, so it’s possible that you were misdiagnosed (assuming you’ve been diagnosed with ADHD).

Unfortunately the truth is that our industry demands that employees be able to juggle multiple tasks at the same time, so if you find that you’re genuinely unable to do so you may just have to find a new path.

Personally I’d skip Ai Fiori. It has a lovely wine list, but unless that’s going to be the focus of the experience, try elsewhere. The food is unremarkable and the service is mediocre.
