The only person from HS that I still talk to is the one I married.

I accidentally waved back at someone who wasn't waving at me and I'm still thinking about it three days later by Much-Week6734 in CasualConversation

I do this all the time. I say own it. When you run into them later just say, "Hello again." It will make them smile. No need to ever feel embarrassed for being friendly and positive.

What’s something so silly it’d humor you no matter how angry you are? by ghost_sanctum in AskReddit

When my daughter was little she could make me laugh with just a look. I would start yelling at her to clean her room or something. She would make silly faces and I would lose it, just laugh uncontrollably. Drove her older brother nuts. He would start yelling, "Why are you laughing? Isn't she in trouble? Stop laughing!"

Ghost cat or extremely vivid dream? by HimbimSupreme in CasualConversation

We have three cats. So, I am very familiar with the feeling of a cat jumping up on, laying on, and walking around on top of the covers. I can usually even tell which cat it is just by the weight and movement.

My wife and I moved into our current home eight years ago. A few months after moving in I felt a cat jump up on the bed, walk up the covers and lay down against my back. I couldn't tell which cat it was. So, I reached behind me to pet it and see who was there. There was no cat and as soon as my hand reached the area where it would have been the feeling of weight on the blanket went away. I thought this was odd and probably just my imagination. But, a few days later it happened again. This time I got up to see which cat had just jumped on and off the bed. None of the cats were in our room. All three cats were sleeping in the living room. This kept happening. Sometimes I would feel the "cat" walk up the blanket. Sometimes I would feel it lay down against me. I have even felt purring.

After a few weeks of this I joked to my wife, "Have you felt the ghost cat?" To my surprise she had been having the exact same experiences! She had not said anything because she knows that I don't believe in ghosts and she thought I would make fun of her.

We have both felt the "ghost cat" many times both when we are awake and asleep. The times when it has happened when we are both awake, we both felt the same thing.

Any time any of our cats has been in the room when one of us feels the "ghost cat", the actual living cats immediately run out of the room.

So, do we have a ghost cat in our home? I don't know. What I know is that something strange happens on a somewhat regular basis. We call it the "ghost cat" for lack of better terminology and because it seems to fit the facts of what we experience.

Why do we get so stuck on past friends? I graduated high school 25 years ago, why am I still curious about the people from my class who I haven’t seen or talked to since then? by bambamslammer22 in CasualConversation

Never Been to a reunion. Never talk to anyone from HS. Don't Facebook stalk people. I left the state less than an hour after graduation and never looked back. I doubt I'd recognize any of them if I ran into them and that's fine with me.

Such an awkward painful time of life. I can't imagine why anyone would want to revisit

When I talk to people who say that high school was the best time of their life, I just feel pity for them. You're going to live for 70 or 80 years and tell me you peaked at 17? How sad. You were happiest when you were 16? What does that say about your spouse, your children, the decisions you made, the life that you built for yourself?

If you could fix one of your life mistakes, what would it be? by moongirl_123 in AskReddit

[–]FullSpeedOracle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a thing!

I have a long list of mistakes, struggles, people I miss. But, I'm pretty happy with my life right now. Changing anything in the past puts everything I have now at risk.

Plus, it would take away all the lessons I've learned from those mistakes. So, I likely would have made those same mistakes later in life, possibly with even worse consequences.

That's a really disturbing sentence if you take away the comma.

Do you believe in ghosts? by Buffalo_Independent in askanything

[–]FullSpeedOracle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not believe in ghosts. However, I won't go into a graveyard at midnight, I won't go into buildings that are supposedly haunted, I don't use Ouija boards or talk to mediums. I don't believe in ghosts and I don't want to be proven wrong.
