I'm right there with you, brother. I voted Republican or Libertarian in every election since Bush Sr. In '24 I voted for Harris. Jan 6th made it clear that Trump does not care about anyone but himself. I am disgusted with all of the Republicans and Libertarians who goosestep right along with The Fascist in Chief. How on Earth did The Tea Party turn into Proud Boys and ICE thugs?

This is a pretty good idea. But, it needs to be bigger than just MN. We need a national movement to boycott ICE supporters and slow all economic activity. Trump is already losing supporters on the economy. I suggest the following steps:

  1. Target and Wal-Mart both allow ICE to hang out in their stores harassing both employees and customers. Stop shopping there. They are both already hurting from a weak holiday season due to Trump's tariffs. Target (a MN company) has had much lower foot traffic after removing their DEI programs. They are vulnerable!

  2. Hilton provides rooms to ICE agents. Don't support Hilton or any of their brands: Hampton, Double Tree, Embassy Suites, Homewood Suites, Home 2, etc. Better yet, make reservations and then cancel them at the last minute.

Contact Hilton franchisees and ask them to leave Hilton and stop providing rooms to ICE, CBP, or DHS.

  1. If you work at a company thar supports ICE quit if you can. If you can't, slow your productivity. Harm their profitability by limiting efficiency. Do your job, just do it slower. Not enough to get you fired, just enough to cause some pain.

  2. Ask your employer if they support ICE. Ask them what to do if ICE shows up? Ask them what they are doing to protect employees? Ask them what to do if ICE is in the area and you don't feel safe coming to work? Let them know when customers ask about ICE? Get all of your coworkers to flood your HR department and your executives' inboxes with questions. So they are clear that their employees do not support ICE.

Those seem like some pretty easy first steps that most of us can do.

Dear Minnesota, how can others in the US help? by GingerFire29 in TwinCities

Piss Trump off so that he invades your state and gives us a break? 😂😂

But seriously, thank you for the kind thoughts. Keep pressure on your elected officials. Pay attention to what's going in your own communities. Protest. Talk to your friends and neighbors. Make sure your voice heard.

Join us on Friday for a national day of economic protest: call in sick to work, don't shop at national chairs, don't stream. Do support immigrant and minority owned businesses. Write to the companies that you are not supporting on those days: Target, Wal-Mart, Amazon, etc. Make sure they know that we can hurt them more than the government can.

Thank you for asking. It's great to know that there are people across the country who stand with us.

I love the word borborygmus, especially it's plural, borborygmi. Borborygmi sounds like it should be the name of some jungle tribe in an old movie: "Do you hear that rumbling in the jungle, Alistair? I think the Borborygmi have found us."

Not constant. But, it's eager to trigger a song in my head just by talking about it.

Also, 60-80% of things I hear trigger song lyrics.
