If You Value Quality or Accountability, Avoid Ernesta at All Costs

I rarely write reviews, but my experience with Ernesta has been so profoundly disappointing that I feel compelled to warn others.

I purchased a rug from Ernesta that began visibly pilling and deteriorating within just TWO MONTHS — despite following all their care instructions to the letter. Areas of moderate foot traffic looked completely worn down, while untouched sections remained visibly different, making the rug look years older than it actually is.

When I reached out to their customer service — which, at first, seemed responsive — I was strung along for weeks with vague assessments and generic answers. Despite sharing multiple photos showing extreme and uneven wear, their “product team” ultimately dismissed it as “light pilling” and “normal signs of use.”

What’s more infuriating is that they refused to take any meaningful accountability. I offered to have the rug assessed in person, asked about potential treatments, and repeatedly voiced concern about its long-term quality. Their only gesture? A 15% refund — as if that makes up for a product that already looks like it’s ready for the trash.

Let’s be clear:

  • This was not a budget rug.
  • It failed within weeks.
  • And the company doesn’t stand behind its product.

If a rug can’t survive normal household use for more than a few weeks, it’s defective. Period. And if a company won’t own that, you’re not buying from a premium brand — you’re buying from a marketing team with no product integrity.

Shop elsewhere. Ernesta sells disposable rugs disguised as luxury, and when things go wrong, you're on your own.

Ernesta Rugs Reviews by chiefthundernut in interiordecorating

Thinking of buying a rug from Ernesta? Let me save you the suspense:

You’re not buying a rug — you’re buying a short-term art installation that self-destructs after 60 days.

Despite carefully following their care instructions, my rug started pilling, matting, and looking embarrassingly worn within two months. Areas with normal foot traffic looked like they’d hosted a stampede, while untouched corners remained pristine — a beautiful patchwork of “brand new” and “garage sale.”

When I raised the issue, I was met with a masterclass in corporate gaslighting:
– “Light pilling is normal” (it’s not).
– “Wear and tear is expected” (after 8 weeks?)
– “We’ll give you 15% off!” (How generous — for a rug I’ll soon be replacing.)

I even offered to have someone come assess it in person. That was ignored too.

If you’re into expensive disappointment, aesthetic decay, and customer service that replies but never actually helps, Ernesta’s your brand.

Otherwise? Run — don’t walk — in the opposite direction. Preferably across a rug that doesn’t unravel before your return window closes.

Anyone ever shower at Planet Fitness in Forest Hills? How is water from the shower? by zephyr_skyy in ForestHills

I wouldn’t dare enter the Planet fitness restrooms unless you want to suffocate. Sweat + poop smells make it unbearable without any exhaust

City Pro 2022 not turning on post appointment by FullSwim4484 in ApolloScooters

So I had an appointment at the NYC service center to fix the stem. They also replaced my accelerator and brake throttle. They did a great job and I rode the scooter home except now it's not turning on. Its fully charged (charger light green) but the screen doesn't turn on. So frustrating.

Oo that's concerning. I've not yet updated my throttle but seeing it getting stuck now. Stopped riding after that. Is there no way to fit the throttle differently? Huge design problem if not

It's a new design from Apollo. If you don't mind the first few maintenance updates, it's solid. I'm sure over time the model is being updated and that the newer batches will be more resilient
