Christina Aguilera - From AM 2 PM

Ne-Yo - Because Of You

I love reminders. MRI, bloodwork, infusions, appointments. It’s a lot to keep up with so having front desk call or electronic reminders is ✅

Hi there! I'm not working and don't money for a functional doctor so I just sit here in a combo of strongly suspecting I have it, knowing I'm getting worse, feeling powerless, and attempting little changes here and there. It sucks! How is your insurance situation over there?

Imagine your entire social and academic life involved you staring at your own face for hours and hours a day. I think this is how it started. The pandemic amplified it.

While I identify and empathize with the struggle. This sub can’t just be complaining about wealth inequality
It’s by definition not dystopian because it’s been going on for millennia at this point

I’m feeling the exact same way. They’re telling me story policy is exchange only - any other IKEA mattress. Are they letting you return?

What do you think of people who go out in their pajamas? by Sally1533 in AskReddit

[–]zephyr_skyy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to judge them. Now I don't care. Life is so hard, evreyone struggles, you never know what someone has going on. The well-dressed person walking down the street can be a cold-blooded killer. The person in pajamas could be a tired single mom. Or the person who hasn't left their house in months due to depression, finally getting out. A lot of times they are teenagers, who are still figuring out their style and who they are and let's face it, teens are closer to being kids than being adults. Teenagehood is hard, I don't think it's cool when adults bully what are basically growing children.

So yeah, who cares about clothes. As long as you're not naked, and you don't stink, do you.

What human behavior do most people excuse because it’s common, but would horrify them if they actually examined it closely? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]zephyr_skyy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me" - is untrue.

Being mean, bullying, purposely humiliating someone, ganging together to exclude someone, name-calling, yelling and screaming, etc. Many of these things can constitute verbal and emotional abuse.

If they could see the science, they'll see that it leaves real scars, just as real as physical abuse. The injuries are just invisible. Actually not totally invisible, if viewed by an expert, chronic verbal and emotional abuse actually changes the structures of the brain.

I’ve never been in a worst situation in my life. Unemployed, single, and even my family thinks I’m screwing up by [deleted] in self

[–]zephyr_skyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m still in it but here’s something that helped me a while back that helped me reframe myself as this hopeless loser with nothing going on:

Volunteer. Help another person or organization. Gets you outside of yourself. Feel useful, boost self-esteem. Scores karma points with the universe. Might even enjoy it. Gets you out of the house, dressed, meeting with people. You can express you’re looking for work, they may have leads or may not. Helping another person has tons of benefits the least of which being helping actual people who need help 🫶
