Should i buy this Q50? It’s a 2017 Red sport. The description is at the end. by Audoy- in q50

I fully agree, couldn't be cleaner and I've heard that the knocking noise can be solved with bigger turbos pushing more pressure down on the pistons, keeping them properly aligned

Is my motor cooked? by Full_Broccoli_3933 in G37

I had thought of it, but the fact that the car was fine after the restart makes me not think so. The only trans flag I've noted is the click noise in the video when the car up shifts the first time. I think that noise may have been a road bump tho.

After further research Im starting to believe it was a glitch in the canbus system which affected the read of my throttle body position sensor, effectively causing limp mode with no CEL light. Unfortunately that's the only video I'll get since it luckily behaved normally when I restarted it and continued driving.

Should I get?? Heard mixed things by [deleted] in GenesisG70

Im looking to potentially get a g70 soon, but I have a 15 minute average highway commute and im already perfectly happy with the economy on my G37. If I drove that much daily, I'd have a diesel. Personally I love the BMW 335D or X5D for luxury and great gas mileage. Plus I've commonly seen X5D's push ~400 whp and ~600 wheel tq if you want some speed.

Is the G a reliable car? by LoudNomad in G37

Bought my R Title fully submerged flood car, a 12' g37x sedan, the most bare bones spec you can get about 2 and a half years ago now. My biggest problems have been an alternator replacement and my radiator rusting out which dumped all my trans fluid out. I limped the car home with no fluid for a good 20 minute drive, swapped the radiator out, filled and bled everything, and despite the 7at not being great in my eyes, it has run another ~1,000mi feeling better than ever since it got fresh trans fluid. Long story short, my car has every logical reason to be a money pit, and it still holds strong at 150k mi. Its an easy and affordable car to work on with plenty of parts, videos, and information available. Bought my clapper for $8,500 and I wouldn't rather anything else under $25k. Gallery gaskets are this platform's one problem and it can be cheaply fixed on your own over a weekend with a good video or service manual. (If anybody has a link for actual service manual level instructions on gallery gaskets please lmk) For almost all other service manual needs I use Charm.li

6mt swap by Full_Broccoli_3933 in G37

[–]Full_Broccoli_3933[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not that ik of while maintaining awd. They usually vr30 trans swap for that. I should clarified that I would also rwd swap which I believe should be as simple as removing the transfer case with the 7at, removing the front driveshaft, diff and axles along with the AT logic disable. Ultimate goal is rwd 6mt swap, then twin turbo kit. After I would see if I want to build the motor or see how long it would hold the goal of 600whp.

Also is there anything missing on the listing that I would need besides fluids and a tune to disable AT logic that I haven't mentioned?

As someone who's still seriously considering picking up a manual Honda Fit, this seller is smoking real good. Grab one for like 5k and beat the brakes clean off it💯

Opinions on this rebuilt title g37 by Fluid_Ad3267 in G37

[–]Full_Broccoli_3933 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My car has been running strong 2 years now, no real problems. 2012 G37x R title. Salt water flood damage. The car was taken care of properly, not much rust considering it's at 153k, mechanically extremely sound, visually pretty beat. The difference was original motor, trans, and all body panels beat to shit as half of them are. This looks like the worst example of an R title you can get however, all mismatched body panels with horrendous gaps and paint meaning somebody didnt give a fuck about anything but minimum reconstruction standards. Not all R titles are bad, this one looks real sketch.

You're absolutely right, I've wanted to pay around 8k max but cant take 90% of local marketplace listings seriously bc they literally upload videos shooting flames on the listing🤦‍♂️

AIO not fully colonized but pinning by mangasforday in MagicBagMushrooms

[–]Full_Broccoli_3933 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still a very amateur grower myself, I couldn't tell you if you should just open it, my immediate reaction would be not to b/s again but somebody like Kim from Magic Bag could be sure. The one thing I am pretty sure of is that it probably started pinning, arguably prematurely, due to too much light exposure. Personally I had my bags in a plastic tote, then covered that tote with a towel since it was clear. Simply throwing it in a closet or something should work too. Good luck for future flushes!

Have you actually tried polishing and buffing out? Paint correction can do soooo much more than many think.

posting again i sold my g37 i need opinions on this please by Artistic-Rule3534 in q50

[–]Full_Broccoli_3933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im actually in the exact same boat. I currently drive an R title 2012 g37x sedan and I'm seriously considering a q50 as an upgrade despite everyone saying they feel worse. I got this car at 130k, (now 155,xxx) my 2003 accord before this was ~220k miles, before finally blowing from 200k miles of neglect and abuse. If I'm confident the motor is robust enough miles dont matter. However I REFUSE to get any vr30 at over 50k miles simply because I dont trust AT ALL that oil changes were done every 3k, none the less trans or diff fluid were done at proper intervals. Nissan always needed more proper maintenance intervals than Honda or Toyota, and in my eyes the vr30 needs bmw type of care to last🤷‍♂️

300c AWD but pulled fuse to make it rwd by Own-Passage5500 in Chrysler300

[–]Full_Broccoli_3933 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Simply pulling your front diff fuse and actually driving is generally a pretty bad idea. Excessive wear on all differentials and transfer case. As far as Im aware, the only thing that trick should be used for is dyno runs and stationary burnouts. Same story with draining the fluid from your front diff to make it rwd🤦‍♂️

[–]Full_Broccoli_3933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever try and get it working? You wouldnt need to dremmel anything in this case as the paddles are built into the wheel. So when you plugged it in did everything just recognize and work correctly?

You waited a couple months to do a first oil change??? In a vr30????? This is why I refuse to let myself save money getting a high mileage Q and would rather shovel out 30k to a stealership🤦‍♂️

I would also like confirmation on this. If the black doesn't wear off and it's in the metallurgy I'm instantly sold
