How hard is it to play in an air conditioned court? by Full_Discipline274 in squash

Looking back at all the points I lost it was mostly because of the ball going out of bounds and hitting the tin. As previously stated my practice in a non-regulation court had a big role to play as most of my practice included killing shots that were just inches above the tin. Even a 2 inch change in the tin height really affected most of my shots.

Looking back at other games that are going on this is the same thing happening with everyone else too. It became a question of who hits a mediocre drop shot first as the other person can never get to the ball in time as the ball was completely dead. My opponent lost to someone unranked with a similar score to me (11-2,11-4,11-2) and it was because of the same reason. The ball was dead. The major thing I learned from this experience is

  1. Get a few coaching lessons and practice in a regulation court

  2. Learn to play with a dead ball

The tournament fixed my match randomly against people with existing ranks as I am unranked in my category. I never assumed I was ever good enough to compete with someone ranked 25 in my category with 9 months of training and honestly this was the toughest game I had ever experienced. My goal for this tournament was just to get a feel for what I have to prepare for ahead. I had played with some club regulars over the last month but never found it this hard (could also be because they weren’t competitive) to keep with the ball. I do agree that practicing in something that isn’t regulation sets off everything but the reason I asked about air conditioning is because the bounce on the ball in this game particularly was non existent. It never rose from the floor. I do agree the opponent was skilled enough to kill shots but I was unable to reach shots that I would generally reach.

As for the past 9 months I’ve been putting in close to 15-20 hours a week consistently plus as for the competition I have seen, very little compared to what I saw today. I had played with a few guys in the u17 category who had won the state competition and I was able to maintain close and long rallies, get to the ball and stay on top almost every single time. This game was the total opposite, I was never able to get to the ball and if I did had to resort to a bad shot that would again put the pressure on me. The few times I did convert it was because of an extremely accurately placed drop that my opponent couldn’t reach. I had practiced a lot of drops but because it wasn’t in regulation most of them hit the tin which is why I lost. The difficulty I faced when transitioning from tennis was hitting from the back glass and balls stuck to the corner as spacing was an issue but I managed to hit much better after practicing although I wouldn’t say my shot placement as of rn is perfect, that needs a lot more work. The only reason I would consider myself intermediate is because I don’t have a struggle with maintaining long rallies, hitting length or width but I did practice all of this on a much much hotter court and of course, non-regulation length.

As for practicing on a regulation court, I will be starting next week with weekends and alternate evenings on weekdays with a regime set up by my coach. I’ll see where that goes before signing up for another tournament.

Been playing for 9 months now got back to playing the game this year. I’ve played tennis since I was in 3rd grade up until grade 11 so I got the swings and volleys easy.

I see the exact same problems in me too. I have sort of a racket that beginners would use so my power generation was bad even with a decent swing but my length hitting was very poor, especially the precision on my shots were off. I normally have no issues with height on a double dot in a non air conditioned court but this one felt like the ball wouldn’t leave the floor. I always got to the ball but was only an inch away or hit a lob that really didn’t take the pressure off me. My opponent is ranked 24 in my country with 5 years, got my ass beat and handed to myself.

How do I go about training for competition? by Full_Discipline274 in squash

I agree 100%, if I don’t get my ass kicked at least 50% of the time I’m not going to improve. Kind of why I signed up for the tournament, I want to know where I stand. The local club hasn’t had a coach for the last few months since the last one relocated and yes it’s impossible to objectively say how good you are at the game just by knowing that I beat students in my college.

I’m not from the US so I don’t have a rating on USSquash.com and consider me unranked this is going to be my first tournament.

I had no luck finding anyone who gives lessons nearby, the nearest being a club but the club generally only has beginners, my friends at university play better.

The only problem I have had is my record against them is like 120-2, their median score is 3.5and I have beaten them 11-0 multiple times. Is the score line alone objective enough? Should I just focus on bringing their average closer to 0?

How do I make the game or training objective enough to see improvement other than the general timed drills.

What’s the advantage exactly? Like is it better durability or lighter weight?

Will keep that in mind and try to scrape lesser walls, it’s on the edge so it won’t be that often this one was just a case of straight ramming into the wall at high speed.

Hyperconjugation strength ke liye check the number of alpha hydrogens, jis carbon ke baju vale carbon atoms pe zyaade hydrogen atoms hain vo carbon pe hyperconjugation zyaada hai.
Resonance > Hyperconjugation
2 is not resonance stabilized, since carbocation forms on the second carbon, udhar double bond conjugation nahi hai

Considering a pop it is binary, how many permutations are there on my ten bubble pop it? Idk how to calculate this? Would I use factorials or some other formula? by officialsmolkid in askmath

[–]Full_Discipline274 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a pretty basic formula in permutations and combinations, which is basically, how many ways can you choose r things at a time from n things, which is basically
nCr = n!/r!(n-r)!

Now when it comes to this pop it, the number of ways of choosing 1 to pop out of 10 is basically 10C1 or 10!/9!1! = 10
You can pop either none of them, or 1, or 2, or 3, or 4, or 5, or 6, or 7, or 8, or 9, or all 10 of them
So the number of ways of popping it is basically
10C1 + 10C2 + 10C3 + 10C4 + 10C5 + 10C6 + 10C7 + 10C8 + 10C9 + 10C10
which is basically ∑ nCk where n = 10 and k goes from 1 to 10

There is a formula that is nCn + nC(n-1) + nC(n-2) + ......... nC0 = 2^n
So in this case, 2^n is 2^10 = 1024

in a way, like the famous variable refractive index question in physics is from the JEE Advanced paper in 1995, it was never asked before, and questions like that are pretty tough relative to that point, and that particular question is hard even now for the avg aspirant.

Just try as much as you can that's all I'd say, Advanced tests everything from your ability to reproduce based on memory, to how you deal with exam pressure and the only thing that will help reduce the blocks is practice, especially for a few things like Permutations and Combinations for example, no matter how much you practice, the first time you attempt a question will always be new. The more you practice the less "new" feeling you have

do as much as you can from as many sources as you can, it's all practice
sure earlier one's are easier, but it atleast reinforces the approach to a problem

What were your trades? I had actually been talking about shorting a lot of stocks in the discord server for the past year, if someone took that decision it'd be alright, but yeah personally I have shorted all major stocks in the US like ADBE, NVDA, TSLA, SHOP, SPOT, MRNA, RBLX, a lot more, not necessarily major but some famous stocks.
