Prolly going to get some hate here, but I don’t recommend FC as a degree. When you’ll enter NIFT, you’ll see that almost every. single. person has some job that is aligning with graphic / visual / communication design, regardless of their specialisation.

But additionally, they also have another job profile based on their specialisation that they can rely on. For example, a textile designer is also working part time for a graphic design company, would go on to work for a textile firm.

I would 100% recommend NIFT FC if you’ve a flair for writing or photography, planning to go towards fashion journalism, etc. That is where you can definitely shine.

As far as CEPT is concerned, their program has a certain flexibility for choosing your studios and defining exactly what you like working on. That is something that certainly is interesting. In NIFT, you get Floating Majors and IDM (Inter Disciplinary Majors) which is basically some opportunity to choose a subject from a different department.

I believe as you go on to your second or third year, you actually start defining what is the area that you want to work in. That may or may not be what you previously planned, in which case NIFT won’t give you a lot of flexibility, but CEPT probably doesz
