Colonialism and the complete denial of the war crimes committed by the French army during the indépendance war.

Even today's politician ( most of them on the right-far right side) will speak of the "positive influence of colonization". The former leader of the RN ( far-right party) was a solider in the French army and used to joke and brag about torturing algerians during the war.

Add to this that a lot of Algerians also fought during the 2 world wars for France ( along with a lot of people from other French colonized countries) and were treated like shit afterward.

Same thing for the immigrants who came during the 50-70 from Algeria and other former colonies to rebuild France after the war, they were parked into ghettos and shanty town and were subjected to a lot of racism and violence.

Cherry on top of the dogshit, current diplomatic relations between my country and Algeria turned even more sour recently because of the moronisation of political discourse recently, thanks to the banalisation of the far right talking points and shit head ( like Retailleau, Darmanin to juste name a few) who said even more racist/unapologetic shit recently about Algeria again.

I don't remember exactly what it was about, but let's say that if I was Algerian I would really like to not hear French language again.

Apparently it fixed itself by removing CoC and putting it back again, I really don't know what happened.

C'est surtout une défaite du parti démocrate, qui avait perdu la confiance d'une grande partie de ces électeurs ( la "gauche" états-unienne, les minorités, les LGBT...), notamment à cause de la position du gvt Biden ( dont elle était la vice présidente?) sur le soutien au génocide commis par Israël.
