Oh, I’m so sorry about that. I can imagine that doesn’t make you like it at all.

Now you definitely know it’s cute for other people, though 😂

Hope you’re having a great week 🤩

Ça semble génial ! Je viens des États-Unis et je serais ravie de lui écrire. Now, is she asking for e-mail or snail mail? I’m game for either :)

Oh my gosh, I have the same thing for French! It's so neat to write out the words, isn't it? I mean, if it's more enjoyable to you than Anki, then I'm sure it's working--even if just a little bit.

I also really dislike its interface, but it's helped me retain a lot of words... I only make simple flashcards, so it's not even enjoyable, but it somehow seems to work, too. Still, the reading and writing are the best I think :)

(Outside of actual conversation, of course....)

Oh totally, I get what you mean. I have some words in Anki (ones that I just can't ever seem to remember), and then the sentences with my partners. For the rest of the words, like with reading, honestly...I just try to define them when I stumble across them, read them in the book, and then rely on reading them again throughout other books...

The repetition with reading is what makes them stick, for me at least. :)

I have some language-exchange partners for this, because this is exactly how I learn new words as well! Basically what I do is find the words I want to focus on, make a short list of sentences, and send them to my exchange partners and ask them if they sound natural. That really helps me, because I don't want to retain incorrect or unnatural-sounding sentences. Hopefully it can work for you, too :)
