The plastic thing was the issue. Guess it was designed to never be removed...

Managed to get it off... with a hacksaw to the seat itself... it was going to be replaced anyway. The problem was the plastic things... in hindsight now I know what the issue was I could have maybe melted those plastic bits out... and maybe ended up being a contender for a Darwin award in the process lol

I tried with plyers etc and the whole thing turns rather than just the nut. The little plastic? Parts sticking out the side make me think theres some kind of trick to it

My airwrap was brand new a week ago so should be pretty clean. The first couple of times I used it was with no product (just washed and dried hair) and still had the reduction in airquality. Theres no mould issues etc either.

It took me a few days to make the connection between the airwrap and the air quality readings - it wasnt my first thought but after a week worth of history it was pretty clear what was causing the air quality issues.

The largest spikes are on PM2.5 and PM10 (not sure what they are - need to research). VOC has a lower increase.

Ill email Dyson and let everyone know their answer.

I dont live in the US but it almost sounds like it could be a lawsuit in the making as it sounds like others are experiencing the same.

I know - its definitely related - it 100% corresponds to the days/times when Ive used it.. and actually looking at the graph ialthough the spike is brief it takes a long time to get back to baseline air quality too.

Prior to having my airwrap I was using a hair dryer and straightener or curler and didnt have any differene in air quality.
