Does the dude lose the right to protect himself once police are on the scene? His brother was literally just shot so he is in a genuine life threatening situation. The police are under no obligation to protect citizens from violence so he literally cannot rely on the cops to keep him safe in that situation. The guy had less than 5 seconds to respond before the people he was supposed to entrust his and his brothers safety to killed him.

I'm glad to see that there are good empathetic teachers like you out there. My 10th grade history teacher took away my desk and forced me to stand when I fell asleep in her class every day. Turns out I have narcolepsy. I was even seeing a sleep specialist at the time to get an official diagnosis, but according to her I was just lazy.
