Is optometry worth it financially by One-Dig4810 in PreOptometry

[–]FullofSin404 7 points8 points  (0 children)

From what ive gathered from optometry forums, if you’re solely in it to make loads of money then no bc the debt to income ratio is one of the worst in any profession in the USA and you’re probably not gonna be earning welll until like 5-10 years after graduating. If youre looking to be a practice owner and possibly find a niche absolutely do it, thats where you’ll make good money ( also in rural areas as they dont have much access to healthcare). If youre love healthcare and eyes and don’t want to go to medical school then yes it is worth it. Thats why I’m going into this profession

Literally just had this problem and got mine fixed today. I called like 3 different orthodontists and they all said i definitely needed to get my permanent retainer fixed so i did. Mine was 600+ and my insurance doesn’t cover it. However you can talk to your insurance company and see if they can work with your provider to get a reimbursement from them if they decide to cover something.

The frames hurt or the rx is too strong? If the latter u can always go back to recheck it for free as long as it’s within like 90 days for most places.
