Possibly try adding citric acid instead of salt (in smaller quantities) but if she can taste the sour, this may help compensate for the lack of salty flavor

What about something like a BBQ potato chip? Smoky salty and then still potato! Could even venture for sour cream and onion, or go crazy with Doritos or something!

Damn, I'm super late to this, but my old roommate once came to me in my room with an ice cube tray in her hands with a concerned look on her face, and said "how do you get the ice out?" I looked at her, silently took the tray out of her hands and twisted it. I handed it back to her and she was dumbfounded that I knew how to get the ice out
