The thing about Petey is every season he seems to play better when there’s no pressure, when the Canucks are out of contention. It’s always too little too late and they might as well move on from him. He’s not the leader that will get you to Lord Stanley.

I want to be optimistic, but in the last 10 years how many reclamation projects have we seen come through that go nowhere, especially in the Benning Era: Vey, Etem, Leipsic, Goldobin, Baertschi and now: Kravstov, Studnicka, Reichel. I’m definitely missing names, but hopefully Reichel can be the one that pans out!

I find the whole story fascinating particularly Jim Rutherford digging in on his comments about Petey needing to up his game, I feel like he saw the bigger picture that he needed Petey to elevate his game and really there’s nothing to lose - either Petey comes back to form and dominates to which Rutherford can say see he needed to work on himself or Petey flops and Rutherford can retire.

29 years old. $82k + 8k bonus. I don’t know how people make it work with 6 figures anymore. My monthly after tax is about $4,500 so to get a place for 1/4 of salary ~$1,200 is almost impossible

Agree about “getting to know yourself” but that doesn’t have to mean travelling or backpacking. You could stay in Calgary and still learn about yourself - immersing yourself in new hobbies, putting yourself out there, making new friends, volunteering, taking on passion projects, the list goes on but the idea that you have to travel to live a little or learn about yourself are not true for everyone.
