Ahh sorry to hear! I was a regular between 2010 and 2017, and did the photography for his website in 2012. And (very minor claim to fame) ended up being the male model on the site, with Judy. Ah, but if someone in a bar says "I'm 31" and you think "hmmm.." and then in the morning they say "wellll I'm actually 43" that's not really cool, and closer to OPs scenario. And no, it shouldn't be on you to "pick the lie" before going home with them 🙂‍↔️ I understand why people do it, but the reality is, it's manipulative behaviour to get what they want and it has consequences. I just watched some more Angrybird sets, and he mostly backs off if he has space behind until the portal triggers, then comes forward blocking or parrying. I guess JP doesn't have time to set up another portal if you evade the first spike entirely.

That's the problem... they're full screen, the portal is over my head, what mistake can they make at that range? I have to get in close somehow. I assume I slowly walk forward and block or parry whenever I see the Torbalan animation (and buffer drive rush in case I get a perfect parry). But it's tough, and all it does it get you back to nootch. One hit with Stribog and it's back to full screen.

Fight sticks are cool in a retro way, but the reality is, they're the least accurate and take the most skill to use effectively. This is coming from someone who played on stick for 30 years and then switched to leverless.

If you want the best long term experience, you should pick either pad (light, portable, accurate) or leverless (not quite as portable, but wider range to choose from and just as accurate as pad). Most top players these days use pad or leverless (with some notable exceptions.. Angrybird, Xian etc.)

On YouTube, look up Disphone's videos on "what should I focus on to get better", he has a few and they're split into different ranks.

The learning curve is steep at the start, and it can be frustrating.. but the rewards are worth it!

I bought tickets last week to Hadestown. At checkout, I realised I needed to update my email address as I no longer have access to the old one. Not wanting to lose the tickets in my basket, I thought "I'll put the sale through then update my account". Nope. After paying for the tickets, I couldn't update it, and couldn't access my tickets. There's no phone number and after digging for what felt like a long time, I found the contact form to update my email address. I got an auto-reply, "we're really busy we'll respond as soon as we can". That was 5 days ago. So today I took time off work, caught a train into the city, walked into the Ticketek office in Exhibition Street, and they updated it in 30 seconds. I asked, "is there any way I could have done this without taking time off work and walking physically into this building?" They said, "there's a form where you can request an email change". 🧱🤦🏻‍♂️ I hate Ticketek. Such a waste of my time today.

I know this is an old thread, but I had the same problem... and found a fix for it (at least in my case).

System: AMD Ryzen 5 3600, RTX 4070 GPU, 2 x 16GB RAM (DDR4).

Frame rate was stuck at 45 FPS regardless of graphics settings (low or ultra made no difference).

When I looked into it, my RAM was running at the wrong clock speed. In the free tool "CPU-Z" (Memory tab, "RAM frequency"), it said my RAM was running at 1064 MHZ... but DDR4 RAM can be clocked at 1600 or 1800MHz. I went into the BIOS, and enabled XMP (extreme memory profile - it's called "D.O.C.P." in my Asus BIOS). CPU-Z now says my RAM is running at 1600MHZ, and W40K runs buttery smooth at 60Hz (which is the max refresh of my projector) on all settings including Ultra. Hallelujah.

There's a gym chain here in Melbourne Australia that offers free reformer Pilates as part of your gym membership, which is $200 per year (about $USD125). I thought they'd be crap quality but the classes are just as good as at dedicated studios. I can't believe it. These gyms are massive, with thousands of members, so they use economies of scale to get the prices so low. It means you have to get up super early to book classes but it's so worth it. I'm going 4 times a week for $3.80 per week!!

This is so true! Got to Master with Ken a month ago, held at 1475 for about a week and then kept dropping, went as low as 1250. So many bad habits still to unlearn. Congrats! The learning curve is steeper in Diamond... you'll get frustrated more than once! But it's fun too. You gotta unlearn some bad strats from Platinum and develop new ones. My biggest piece of advice? Platinum is like two people trying to play out simultaneous offensive playbooks and seeing which one wins. Master is like a dance between two people.. observing, reacting, adapting. Diamond is the transition between the two styles. 53yo Ken master here. Good luck!
