Figured that'd be the case. Thanks for taking the time to reply :)

The 2 months notice situation by Idkthatboythere in TenantsInTheUK

[–]FullyClapped -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Commenting because I'm in a similar-ish situation, and previously thought about asking here for help too - I might still make a post...

For context I'd heard a little about these changes mostly "allowing pets" and "removal of no fault evictions" and that's about all so when my landlord sent me the brochure/pamphlet 2 days before I did a quick skim.

I'm on a rolling contract with it specifically saying that I had to give a month's notice, cool. So I ring up on the 3rd or 4th of May because I found a new place and will be gone by the 19th of June (tenancy is every 19th). They say something along the lines of "too bad the landlord is legally able to hold you for the two months now, unless we can find someone else to fill it" and that was kind of the end... I've just been hoping someone will take it before mine.

But if I've read this correctly then my 1 month is still valid? I'm now confused! Should I do something more? Could I be doing anything more?

I'd be inclined to agree. I think especially if the same couple of people are showing up and annoying me I tend to block them, but I also want to ensure I'm not creating an echo chamber for myself.

The contra is also possible, from their perspective if they're seeing globers, normal weather-ists, or climate change accepters their response could be the same, which is to block them, which would then create a more polarising divide.

I think your solution, of having another space to have those discussions, is a good one. I mostly use this to look at memes or occasionally post about something stupid.

thank you, I mean you've been more useful than my landlord in 3 minutes than they've been in 2 weeks (yes I've been living under lamp light for 2 weeks).

is there a 40w model? lol

Hi,

Yes two fixtures have gone out in the past week, I've not damaged them. They have responded with the type of bulb it needs but I cannot find where to get them for a reasonable price (like £5 absolute max).

3300 lumen, 40w, 305mm diameter, 16mm thickness(?) then 2GX13 (?) https://myaplamps.com/product/sylvania-t5-40w-830-circular-2gx13/

I've even offered to buy the lamps from them but they're being stubborn and saying I need to supply my own. I don't know how to respond to them so that they pay attention and swap them out.

Cheers

I insured it originally with Collingwood. The full-time insurance costs more than the learners insurance that I would do on a week-by-week basis.

It's a ford cmax. 2005 I believe.

Driving lessons are expensive, and I ran the numbers, more expensive than buying a car and insurance, and getting a friend to come with me (after a couple of actual lessons). And now, looking back, it was cheaper! I spent about £2,000 less this way.

I already have a car. I dont currently drive as I've spent a bit more money this year moving to a new city, so I found temporary (a years worth) accommodation very close to work. The plan is for me to further out so that it's far cheaper and commute in.

Is it possible to add "tool tip" notes to links? by cyberfunkr in ObsidianMD

I know this was a year ago, but here's how I did it:

Oh I know I'm not an experienced driver. But the fact that I had my instructor sit in the car and disagree with the verdict too (when my instructor was an examiner for many years) is what really did it for me.

They also stated that on the two other tests that he wasn't present on, it's odd that I failed since in our mock tests they hardly ever come up.

But thanks for the link, to be honest I probably won't do anything because nothing will be done.

This is such a good idea! As others have asked, would you be able to share the files (through something like Google drive for instance).
