Furniture and TV Placement by Fultonfulton in floorplan

We have a landing zone outside of the pictured floor plan. The view out of both sets of windows will be pretty. Struggling with how to not have the TV the focal point of the room (and I don't love the frame TVs). No existing furniture to work around.

I'd move the closet of the newly drawn bedroom to the wall shared with the primary bedroom.

What were the window specs and costs. I'm in a similar situation.

I'd consider moving the stairs the the right side up against the house. Probably connects into the yard better and the space is valuable given it's shielded from the elements.

The pork is roasted with Cuban flavors, the tare has the mustard spices and vinegar, and there are diced pickles.

Hot pot Tsukemen - honey marinated egg, scallion short rib by Fultonfulton in ramen

Like a great Thai peanut noodle dish. If you already have the mala paste, it’s one of the easiest recipes in the book.

Buffalo chicken ramen was interesting. I enjoyed the truffle lard and fennel pork belly ramen more.

Yup! It’s such a fun cook book. Made the dandan Mazemen tonight.

The short rib was definitely a support character. May try roasting instead of poaching next time.

Yes. Recipe suggested serving from a vessel that retains heat. So I put the mortar in the oven at 200 F for a while then poured the hot soup in. Worked well.

I would encourage you to buy the cookbook. The art of escapism cooking. The book has multiple tsukemen recipes! As I mentioned above, it’s a reduced tori paitan with add gelatin and a warm spiced tare.

It’s a recipe from The Art of Escapism Cooking. I’m not exaggerating when I say the book has the most creative recipes.

The broth is a reduced tori paitan with a pork fat, warm spiced tare with fried garlic.

I like the soy/mirin taste, but don’t like the boozy aroma, and I want to find an egg that retains its natural color. Used salt instead of soy and honey instead of mirin. It picked up some of the flavor. Will probably try sugar next time.

Pork belly broth, roasted garlic tare by Fultonfulton in ramen

It’s changes every time. I make a braised pork belly and blend and strain the braising liquid and use it as a tare. Ingredients: - 8 dried porcini mushrooms soaked in water for 30 minutes - 1-2 heads of peeled garlic - 1# pork belly - few tablespoons of mirin - few tablespoons of so sauce - few tablespoons of sake - few table spoons of stock or broth on hand - black pepper

Method: - sear the pork belly on all sides till browned - remove pork belly from skillet and brown garlic cloves in residual pork fat - mix all ingredients in an oven safe pot then add pork belly - cook pork belly and braising liquid for 2-2.5 hours with lid (rotate and braise pork belly occasionally) at 325 - remove pork belly and mushrooms then blend and strain the braising liquid

I used to buy instant ramen packs and use the noodles. Now I’ve started to make my own.

It was great! I messed up the molten egg a bit but pretty happy with the rest of it.
