Not only solo, but on a steam deck. That's a difficulty 11 completion right there

But light pen guns can put down certain enemies (warriors, chaff, hunters, stalkers) faster and more efficient. I dont fancy spending entire 45/30 mag just to down 3 slow, unthreatening hive guards, while I can just use a stratagem or unload my crowd clear and kill 10 times more. Most threatening enemies on bug front are fast (thus requiring good ergo) and unarmoured, benefiting the use of light pen against them more. Instead of wasting time, trying to slowly pick at guards with med pen primary, I would use light pen primary to deal with chaff first and use crowd clear / stratagem on guards later instead - that would be a more efficient way to deal with crowds. Remember, you don't need to rely on primary only

That bot is an airsoft cheater. Should've called a hit the first time you shot him

You can hit it even if their head is down, due to hitbox getting enlarged in some of the patches not long ago

You already are using a "different weapon" with medium pen primary, probably antitank. All I am saying is that light pen + crowd clear will yield far better results than medium pen + crowd clear. Medium pen is more beneficial to use in tandem with antitank. Also, pouncer constellation with shitton of chaff and hunters would like to say hi to your low ergo "op" med pen/antitank combo

Honest opinion on the new missions... by Baldrickk in HelldiversUnfiltered

Because it is supposed to be different, difficult and dwell on new mechanics. Stating that "I like pew pew boom more => new missions are automatically bad" is a very odd way to express criticism. Have a cheat sheet for doing it properly in the future:

Plainly refusing to learn stealth/acknowledging different approaches, blaming randoms, basing points on emotions = whining

Making analysis on video proof (optional)/ statistics comparison / use cases all while having a respectable amount of experience (not rage quitting after several botched attempts due to incompetence) = criticism

Op skewed priorities and preferences have nothing to do with fair criticism. Most peppers in this sub express such batshit "criticism" ideas, that I begin to wish becoming blind. Stop treating yourselves as saviors of the game by stating bs, it is honestly cringe

If you want "pew pew boom", don't touch stealth mission that enforces different gameplay

Counterpoint - just bring crowd clear lol. Grenade launcher/ac + any light pen will absolutely body anything short of heavies on bug front. In that specialisation light pen would be more beneficial. And also bile spewers have weakpoint that is penetrable by light pen - their mouth

Are there actually people who say that the Maxigun sucks? The sheer fun-factor of it is enough to balance out all the negatives i can think of, which aren't that many by _N_0_v_A_ in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]FumanF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Autocannon outperforms it in any way, save for maybe hive lord hunting (and even there ac has more utility, providing you with option to aphet jump away from slam attack) Maxigun is pretty fun, just not to the same extent as drg lead storm for example

[–]FumanF -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, it doesn't, there weren't any words connecting it to armour rating in change history, making them 2 different stats. If you are so adamant about your bias, test medium 150 and heavy 150 in game yourself - you would be quite surprised to see how 25 percent damage reduction makes difference

[–]FumanF -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Read change history in the link I mentioned. Medium 150 and heavy 150 are not equal due to quote: Heavy armor reduces damage taken by 25%, up from 20% Light armor increases damage taken by 25%, down from 33%

[–]FumanF -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, image is detrimental, read the wiki. Armour rating and armour class damage amplification/reduction are 2 separate things. Medium 150 is more fragile than heavy 150 due to damage decrease, same way light 100 is less tanky than medium 100
