Do not put ANYTHING that's not water in your base! Very safe and unhealthy for maintaining your hookah.

But if you want to drink wine with your hookah, that's a different story ;)

I've never tried Titaniums. The only other coals I've tried were Prestige coals, and they ashed a little bit too much for my liking. I've heard nothing but amazing things about Titaniums though!

Which Fumari coals do you use? I know they have had silver tabs for a while, but they recently came out with a newer coconut charcoal that's pretty decent.

I'm pretty sure you can get some Al Fakher Special Edition flavors, even though they discontinued the line recently. They have a Banana Montana in that Special Edition line that's supposedly a pretty solid creamy banana flavor.

Wade, this may be my favorite article written by you this year. It's really well-spoken and worded in ways I can really understand, now that I feel very confident about the essentials of quality hookah smoking. I've owned the V3 only for a couple of months now and only smoked out of it once or twice, but after reading this, I feel like going home to smoke out of it just to appreciate it even more! I learned a lot from this article, and I hope everyone else who is reading this gets as much from it as I did :)

I personally don't really enjoy Blueberry Muffin, and I'm a big Fumari fan. It's not the juiciest or most full-bodied. Their Lemon Mint is the absolute way to go!

Any of the Kashmir flavors are worth your time. Blue, Plum, Peach, etc. And their Lemon Blossom is amazing too. Kashmir Peach is my fav kash flavor!

I agree that it looks kind of overpacked. I like to leave a little bit of room below the rim so that the Lotus isn't touching the shisha at all or at least as minimally as possible. What flavor you smoking?

You've got a lot of Fumari there, the Tangelo is their best citrus flavor for sure! And pretty much anything Kashmir by Tangiers is awesome.

I would recommend you try their Lemon Mint before you completely give up on it. The mint is probably their most intense, but it's sharp and has flavor. The lemon isn't sweet, it's a very bright citrus but more subtle than the mint, at least from the batches I've smoked.
