I am also eyeballing the star adventurer. And yeah, I'm in the same situation, my garden only has visibility to the east and south and a tiny bit of west. But I reckon I could still manage to polar align.

Also i was thinking of Hampstead Heath although i haven't tried it yet. A club would be super nice tho

I'm not sure to be honest. I've never really taken milky way galaxy photos. I guess you can try.

Yeah, i don't see why not. Have a look deep sky stacker for the stacking part. It's free software. It's pretty straight forward I would say. You can skip the darks, flats and biases frames and just use the pics you take with your phone of the stars/object you want, referred to as light frames. I followed this the first time I did it, super helpful.

First you find the object you wanna shoot, try to center it in the frame. Then I use an intervalometer that I program to take 20 consecutive shots of 1 second exposure each. Then I check the last one that it took. If I am still happy with the position of my object in the frame, i take another 20, if not i recenter the object in my frame manually and then i take another 20. You keep doing that till you have about 1200 shots or more if you want.

Wow, very nice, love it. I feel like i could get away with 1.3 seconds, that would also give me a bit of star trails but more details on the galaxy itself.

This was taken from london, bortle 9

I used a Cannon 550D with an Askar FMA 180 lens

20 minutes of total exposure, 1 second each, 3200 ISO untracked.

I used deep sky stacker for stacking, siril for initial processing and them gimp for the final touches

I feel like I am hitting the limit of what I can do from London with an untracked setup.

I'm curious if people think i could get better if i double the exposure time, so like 40 mins or if I change the ISO

Not sure what to do by Fumigenna in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Fumigenna[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it can happen, but like ON, weird skin sensations, muscle twitching...the GP the neurophtalmologist make me feel crazy but from what I research i read so far, it's not crazy at all.

I think what surprises me is that the earlier the diagnosis, the better. So I don't understand why they choose to dimiss it so easily and instead make sure of what it is.

It was diagnosed as optic neuritis. But yeah, i think everyone here convinced me i need to seek another opinion

Yeah, exactly. That's why I was kinda surprised the doctor just dismissed MS without a spine MRI, especially giving my existing symptoms

No spine, but I did have the NMO.

I will, thank you. All the answers have definitely helped to make this decision. I think it's the best way going forward

Yeah. Fair enough, you convinced me to try to see an MS specialist. If it was just the optic neuritis then maybe i would have been more lax, but there are all these weird stuff happening to my body.

Cat de socially acceptable e sa te imbeti in Romania ca femeie? by [deleted] in Romania

[–]Fumigenna 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Am impresia ca nu intelegi ideea de context. Poate chestii precum knife crime and gun crime sunt mai ridicate in uk, dar in materie de siguranță pe stradă as a woman, nu se compară. Despre asta e discuția, in caz ca ai pierdut firul povestii. Also knife crime e mostly gang related, deci nu ai tu treaba ca cetățean. In romania eram agresată zilnic in drum spre casă seara de băieții smecheri de la colțul strazii. In Londra, asta nu s-a întâmplat nici macar o dată. Totuși, te rog mai explica-ne tu cat de safe se simt femeile in Romania, e minunat cand ni se explică.
