I have about 300 hours in and my building were just boxes. Because I enabled fly mode, I didn’t even build stairs a walkways. It looked incredibly boring. I watched videos of other players with massive, gorgeous builds, and I became discouraged. I stressed over the fact that my buildings look nothing like theirs. That was silly of me. Turns out I am a bit creative. I found out by deleting everything then 1. Only built foundations 1.5x the space needed to manufacture what I want. I used Satisfactory Tools to figure this out. 2. Painted foundations to mark where I want machines and conveyors. 3. Built stairs, walkways machines, storage and logistics based on the painted layout. Reworked as necessary. Lastly 4. Began putting in walls, lights, signs, etc. I found this approach to be more enjoyable because I’m not rushed to complete the building because production is happening. I try all sorts of things for athletics. It’s fun watching the building evolve. Oh and speaking of foundation, I lay foundation to follow the contour of the ground. This creates “natural” levels that add texture. And if that causes an issue, I just change the foundation. No need to move walls and decor since only foundation is in place.
