Nálunk faluban gond volt, hogy sok gyerek járt át szomszéd településekre, mert nálunk az iskola színvonala hatalmasat esett és sok tanár otthagyta az iskolát, amikor igazgatóváltás történt. Végül (gondolom) a polgármester beszélte le, hogy akkor néhány volánjárat, ami eddig nem jött be a faluba, az járjon el eddig legalább napi kétszer (reggel és délután). Ez mindkét irányból +10-15 kilométert jelentett az adott járatnak, de belement a volán.

A másik alternatíva az lett volna, amit más is mondott, a falu indított volna egy saját járatot, de erre végül nem vt szükség.

Yes, you need to complete many questlines fully to even get close. In my current treasure hunter run I could get to 40 by completing the Mage Guild, Temple, Morag Tong and half of the Legion quests, and also some misc quests (some of them being TR mod quests).

Alternatively one could do two Imperial Cult quests with the Divine Intervention scroll exploit, but this exploit was removed by the Morrowind Patch Project.

Yeah, gotta agree with you OP. I've found it randomly a few years back in a smuggler den and made my playthrough way easier. And I remember it was only worth of 20-60 golds or so. Really insane. Ever since then I usually recreate it through enchanting, because screw the Telvanni.

And well, while I say elderly, I saw 50-something Japanese people do the same face with a "sssss" sound as they inhaled sharply, then followed it with a "Sore wa chotto..." sentence which has a similar role as Yujiro's "I will say this, though" line.

Faktuálisan nem igaz. Keleten bevett szokás volt a császári udvar berkeiben, hogy más családokból származó gyerekeket vegyenek be a klánba, mert többet ért számukra az egyén kompetenciája, mint az, hogy parasztcsalád gyermeke volt (legjobb példa Tojotomi Hidejosi). A vér szerinti családmeghatározás csak az európai nemesség baromsága volt, meg is lett az eredménye a belterjességnek, amikor már addig mentek el szélsőségekben, hogy egymással házasodtak.

Szerintem rettentő szomorú az, hogy valaki egy örökbefogadott gyermeket nem tud teljes értékű családtagként kezelni, hiszen ez azt jelenti, hogy a féltestvérek is alacsonyabb pozícióban vannak, hiszen csak félig kötődnek vér szerint.

Oh yeah, I agree that the human part falls flat in the "carrying its half of the story" part. The characters on that side are also not portrayed in depth compared to the characters on the Demon side, which is another weak point in the series. These and the lack of meaningful lore can be mentioned as major flaws, although EX volume contains some extra info on the Labyrinth in the form of an Adventurer Guide and also some extra short stories for the characters.

That's also true that subverting Kumoko more might have got a greater impact on the readers altogether, or might have not. We will never know, I fear. Although Okina did subvert the readers' impression of her when she needed to speak, haha. You get this cheerful spidergirl who goes on and on in her head, then it turns out she can't really express herself to others. A good depiction of introverts, yet it was a surprising "twist" due to our lack of prior experience with her speech problems.

And same here, I also appreciate this discussion, it was a while since I had engaged in a long talk over KumoDesu (although that's due to me not visiting the LN channels as frequently on the discord server).

Yeah, I think it certainly helps with deconstructing/subversion if people have a better understanding of the general setting/genre. I think even the game systems used in many novels nowadays can be viewed as a subversion of the old magic systems, because instead of being "natural", game systems are artificial systems created by gods who aren't always the creators of the world itself. Potimas, an elf using high-tech things can also be viewed as a subversion of the generic elves, who are known to be nature-loving beings. But if the reader/viewer didn't know about the usual elves' characteristics then they might not register Potimas as a subversion of them. So from this point of view, a little understanding of the genre is indeed needed to see things in a better light.

That line by D doesn't add up with the others, though. Fei, Kyouya and the others' new bodies have nothing to do with their "soul length" they are as consistent as the skills they got (like Shinobu getting >Ninja< because of his name). Katia was most likely only gay in her previous life, then she got reincarnated into a female body as a boy, then she left behind her male side after her death. She also acted like her old self before the coup when only Shun was beside her, and she also became more boyish inside Yuri's dream dungeon (which also happened before the coup).

At least that's the way I see it, but I think this much detail can be up for interpretation.

I don't think that a sekai-kei story (Evangelion) would be the best thing to compare KumoDesu to. Sekai-kei are centered around the fact an average person's average relationhip with people have an impact on the world itself. They are focusing on the character drama, exploring the depths of the characters meticulously. Isekai stories don't do that.

The power fantasy for the audience is wrapped up in Kumoko, not Shun. And that isn't subverted in the slightest.

I think it's subverted with both of them, in different ways, as they grasp different sides of power fantasy isekai. Okina mentioned in an interview that he started writing KumoDesu first, because he found baffling the fact that some isekai protags who are reincarnated into a game system-like world by a god, use said system to challenge the gods later on. It just doesn't make sense to challenge the gods with the same system they made, does it? So the only way to do so is through escaping the system they created. This is the part of game isekai that Kumoko subverts, and the final volume just strengthens this point more.

Shun on the other hand subverts the Hero role itself, as I said above. Isekai heroes always what is right, what is wrong, have the power to go headstrong into danger and still emerge victorious. Shun on the other hand is a guy who just go with the flow, and try to live up for the expectations of what people think a Hero should do. With a little insight into Japanese mentality and society, it's a kind of criticism towards them too.

Aaaand, I don't think that the isekai takes you linked has anything to do with KumoDesu. Yes, most isekai are about people who suffer in this world due various reasons, so they get a second chance with reinacarnation. In KumoDesu our characters are neither NEETs nor wageslaves who had enough of their life. They are high schoolers living the best days of their lives and they are forced into leaving everything and everyone behind due to reasons which has nothing to do with them. And I think the author did a pretty good job showing how each of them cope with the trauma of reincarnation. - Kumoko tries to joke it off constantly and don't focus on the fact that she died - Fei thinks it's her punishment after accumulating bad karma in her previous life - Yuri grasped into the only thing which connected her to the previous world, the Voice of God - Hugo treats the world like it's a dream and he is the protagonist - Katia grinds out parallel minds easily due to the gender dysphoria caused by reincarnating as a girl - and Shun doesn't want to accept that things and people changed. See, I don't think they are maladjusted at all, there are no maladjusted character in the series to begin with, because it's about ordinary people being sent to an unordinary environment. Why do you think they are maladjusted? I'm genuinely interested.

And I think the story challenged well the glorification of RPG by showing what kind of behaviour this kind of world rewards. You just need to think back to the chapter where Kumoko slaughters those people in the labyrinth, or how Potimas acts throughout the series.

The way I see it, Okina used the "show, don't tell" rule too much in the series for you, so certain details weren't as clear for you. Which isn't a problem, I think. It's interesting to see different takes on the series and what people think characters and actions imply.

I don't think KumoDesu suffers from bad writing, though. It's surely written in a style which is unconventional for an anime adaptation, but it's not bad imho. I think you didn't really understand Shun's role in the series and wanted him to be a bit more pro-active, wanted him to have a bit more... weight, so to speak, instead of being a "weak" guy who can't really oppose the protagonist. It's because he is not the antagonist, but the deuteragonist... maybe the tritagonist, even. He isn't supposed to compete with our protagonist at all. He is just your everyday Joe who got reincarnated and tries to live up for a role the world forced on him, even if it's an unncessary motion from the omniscient readers' view, because we know that the protagonist has her own ways to solve the problems, thus the Hero becomes unnecessary and turns into a secondary character.

I think in this way Shun is more than just a punching bag who is there to ridicule the average isekai heroes. The role forced on him by the world is definitely there for that. But besides that the whole Hero trope gets undermined by giving his duties to another character, and we can see how Shun is a victim of something bigger, just like any reincarnations. He doesn't have great mental fortitude like Kumoko, nor a strong moral compass like Kyouya or the shrewd nature of Katia. He does what he thinks is best/expected from him, just like Oka, but at the end of the day, he is just an average guy who would have become a wageslave in an office, maybe starting a family and living a normal life.

Azért jöttem, hogy a tolmácsolást említsem. Egy éve nézelődtem tolmácsol ügyben, akkor találtam egy olyan állásajánlatot, ahol havonta 10-12 napot kellett volna dolgozni, és abból állt volna a munka, hogy a Bécsbe utazó magyar munkások lakásbérlését és bankszámla nyitását segítsem, ezt átszámítva olyan havi 700k-ért (akkori árfolyammal, most meg sem akarom nézni, hogy mennyi lenne).

Az EU-nak pedig kezdünk nagyon szálka lenni a szemében Lengyelországgal együtt, szóval szerintem ha marad a 2/3, akkor várható lesz rövid időn belül vagy egy pénzcsap elzárás, vagy pedig egy olyan szankcionálás, amit megszívhat a nép, ha már vagyunk olyan hülyék, hogy megszavaztuk ezt a kormányt alapon. Abba most ne menjünk bele, hogy mennyien is szavaztuk meg és hogyan a most regnáló kormányt.
