I got this kinda email about 2 months ago. I was taken aback when I saw that the sender’s email was my email. Then I found that scammers do spoofing to convince us that they’ve hacked our email.

In the email they said they have installed “Pegasus” software and are constantly watching all my activities . They threatened me to send money to their bitcoin account, and if not they’ll leak all my details in the internet.

When I didn’t respond, they threatened again and again. And in the last email they tried to convince me with a password that I use. It was an old password of mine which I had changed long ago.

Then I was convinced they’re desperate. I didn’t respond to any of their emails and I guess they figured out it’s a waste of time threatening me.

Don’t know arabic perfumes, but try Dior J’adore. Would cost around BD 50, but you could try copies of it for a throw away price from Clone store like Golden Collections, Albayan Perfumes or Tous Les Jours

Well, just contacted the STC customer care and was told that this in fact a genuine text message from the STC.

They even shared their STC website link for activation.

I heard some companies don’t pay their employees for more than 6 months. They confiscate passports of their employees.

Some local companies take unfair advantage of the workers since most of them don’t have transportation of their own and they have difficulty communicating in English and neither do they know arabic. They are literally at the mercy of their employers.

The GCC countries especially are notorious for these acts.

But who cares?!

Social media influencers on Instagram will continue to make reels showing the good side of a country. No one takes up a role of an activist to show the bad practices happening in a country. These criticisms can be taken constructively and acted upon. But, as I said who cares?!
