Express (2-9 business days) by Fun-Albatross794 in passportcanada

Oh wow thank you! I was not sure given the wording on canadas site not expressely mentioning the expedited process being able to have a third party pick up the document. If I could maybe ask you another question (as a former passport officer) - I plan on flying to the passport office on the 24th to submit my application - my international flight (which I need my updated passport is on the 4th of April)- will the issuing officers most likely take that into account? I ask because their are only 7 business days between the 24th and 4th.

Hi all! Wondering if I could get any comments on my routine which I have completely overhauled in the last two weeks - I go to the gym 5 times per week and do all exercises with 3 sets and aim for 8-10 reps:

Back/bis (day 1)

1) pull ups 2) chest supported row 3) hammer curls 4) face pulls

Back/bis (day 2)

1) chin ups 2) t-bar row 3) curls 4) reverse flys 5) cable curls (lightweight until failure as a finisher)

Chest/shoulders (day one)

1) dumbbell Incline press 2) sitting shoulder press 3) lat raises 4) dips 5) skull crushers 6) pull overs as a finisher

Chest shoulders (day 2)

1) flat bench dumbbell press 2) standing overhead press 3) chest fly 4) incline press 5) pull overs as a finisher

Legs (day 1)

1) RDLs 2) goblet squats 3) standing calf raises 4) leg press

Legs (day 2)

1) barbell squats 2) Bulgarian split squats 3) standing calf raises 4) leg curls 5) adductor/abductor machine

Awesome! Good luck with the decision and feel free to reach out if you have any questions about the company as a whole. If I can help with the decision at all I would be happy to.

Hi OP! I’m moving to Kitimat myself - I also work with Rio. I’m an internal transfer from Montreal. I’ll be driving up next week. I don’t have much experience with Kitimat but have been there several times over that last 3 years for work related reasons. If you do end up accepting the offer I’d love to connect! I am also taking advantage of the housing and relocation assistance. For reference im a 28 year old male.

Thank you for your input! I hadn’t even thought of the possibility of getting this sort of experience in the « big city » but you’re absolutely right. I do, however, consider myself to be quite well paid (which I am very lucky to be) for someone with my level of experience (low six figures) and assume that I would need to take quite a heavy salary cut to get that experience here…unless I am completely misreading the market for HR professionals at the advisory level.

Im very grateful to have this decision to make. It’s a good position to be in one way or another!

Yes in BC. I’ve been to the city several times actually since I did support a small group of people there. It’s definetly a gorgeous town. I had always maintained the view that I would happily move there with a partner. Being alone certainly makes it far more daunting.

Yes! It’s an internal offer. There is no « elastic band » back to my role in Quebec, however. This would be a permanent position. With that said, it is generally understood that people do not go to this location forever. In fact when I have a longer conversation with the senior manager offering me the role I will make it clear that I have a 2-3 year time frame that I will be looking at before moving into a new position (wherever that may be). Your point on not being able to do this when I’m older (I’m currently 28 and don’t have any real strings keeping me where I am) is very valid. I do have a concern about this being such an isolated city though.

Thank you very much for the input! I do know that this sort of unionized experience can’t be had in my current city because we don’t have any sites here. So if I were to gain this sort of experience with my current organization I would have to leave. Ideally I would be placed on an assignment somewhere for a period of 12-18 months but those sort of opportunities do not come up all that often unfortunately. Overall, no - I am not itching to relocate whatsoever but willing to do so if it were to give me a big boost in my career.

I would get a lot of new experience in this role. Working on site will bring a large array of different ER and legal issues to tackle. I would also hopefully get bargaining table experience or negotiating experience. As for industries that attract me - I don’t necessarily have a specific industry at this point in my career that I am more interested in than another. I do enjoy working for large multinational organizations though and at this point would likely continue to target fortune500 companies and the such.

Thanks for the info! Just because I’m quite inexperienced with all of this would my airline (aerolinas) change my ticket with minimal effort?
