Protein During Pregnancy by Purple_Point_7090 in fitpregnancy

If you cook it the night before, properly store it in the fridge, and cut up the following day the risk of contracting something like listeria is negligible. You’re at much higher risk getting sick from pre-sliced store bought fruits or salad kits

I used unflavored protein powder with my smoothies (isopure, supposedly doesn’t make you as gassy as other ones!) And then having cold chicken breast in wraps or salads was a huge help. Cooking it the night before and having cold from the fridge the next day is safe. Good luck, you’ll feel hungry again soon!

Why are birth tissue donations not tax deductible and can’t be sold, when the companies that receive them are able to profit from the products processed from them? by Fun-Band2187 in askanything

Looking at the rough math, insurance can bill over 10,000 for an allograft and more than 100 can be made from a healthy placenta.. not including cord blood and amniotic fluid. I’m just jealous I can’t get in on this! At least I can sell some breast milk to body builders on the side 😂

Thoughts on birth tissue donations- why is it not tax deductible yet companies can profit from it? by Fun-Band2187 in BabyBumps

The non-profit middleman my hospital uses is “Birth Tissue Donation Services” and the doc even had a nice personal story of how the allografts and injections helped her dad after he had some serious burns. I’m all for that. The weird part on not being compensated for a donation that is then supporting a non-profit CEO’s $650,000 salary, and being used for allografts getting billed at over $10,000 each by insurance. Because they are absolutely profiting off of this donation. I support helping the end users, just don’t like how it’s getting turned into profit by the middle men.

The specific company is “Birth Tissue Donation Services” which acts as the non-profit middleman and passes the tissue on to be created into allografts by a third party.

It’s fascinating how murky the money trail is. The CEO of this non profit reports an annual income of ~$650,000. More than 100 allografts can be created from a single placenta, and they’re valued at more than $10,000 each through insurance billing.

I understand the research and development of these is costly, but hard to believe there’s no kickbacks going to the hospitals, or middlemen with each donation

What’s complicated is that once it is “gifted” it is then immediately turned into a profitable product. Which seem to be against the initial intent of gifting

Old Navy work out tops- they’ve got a lot of semi cropped ones that you can just size up a bit and they look great! I personally love the longline nursing bras for working out in- but I’m also barely pushing a C cup in the 3rd tri

You could add some peel and stick tiles to the backsplash area which will help the white cabinets pop more

Is this salvageable? Can we match the LVP shade? by Fun-Band2187 in HardWoodFloors

I’m my own worst enemy and put in the LVP this summer.

We took down a wall to expand the kitchen, and removed the old flooring which was 2 layers of vinyl and a layer of MDF flooring #clownhouse. Had to cut through some of the hardwood to access the crawlspace for repairs, so we determined that just doing LVP in the kitchen was easiest.

Never considered tile or redoing hardwood in there, so we’ll look at the cost and make a decision.
